Kathryn
DS left a pack of chewing gum in his pocket. It went through the wash. He says there were four pieces left. Luckily, he also left a huge rock in his pocket, so the clothes only spent five seconds in the dryer before I noticed the gum. But, what do I do now!?!? There are tiny pieces of gum on a full load of his and his brother's clothes.
MiMi 4under3
Maybe wash again in cold water to see if they fall off or unstick?? If they don't, put clothes in the dryer with NO HEAT to see if they fall off like that??
PrairieSong
I'm not sure if this would work, but when I've had gum stuck on an article of clothing (it didn't go through the washer) I put the item into the freezer and when the gum froze it was easier to pick off the clothing. AmyontheFarm
Actually that reminds me, I have my son's jeans in the freezer from last week. I forgot about them there.
Kathryn
Thank you. Most if it was kind of balled up and easy to pick off. But a few pieces of clothing have it really in there. We put those in the freezer. It seems like on the cotton clothes, it came right off, but on synthetics it stuck. The worst were two pairs of basketball shorts. dlcricket
Warm white vinegar dissolves gum like magic. Try it!!! Much easier than the freeze and scrape method.
Tammi K
I'd try the freezer and if that doesn't get it all I would plan on a lot of patience and a bottle of Goof Off or Glu Gone.
umsami
I have no idea, other than to say, I'm so sorry. At the umsami household, we usually face crayons or pens in the washer/dryer. That is fun, let me tell you.
