And loving it! I remember watching that with my grandparents when I was 4 or 5 and that was a long time ago! I thought it was dull and wished it would be over so we could watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, with Marlin Perkins and then Disney after that.

In keeping with board tradition, I will follow the mention of Lawrence Welk with a link to his show's unforgettable performance of One Toke Over the Line. For your amusement, not the children's.

I watched LW at my grandparents' house, too. I loved that show! I wanted to be one of those dancers when I grew up! I also loved Wild Kingdom! And HeeHaw! HeeHaw was our Saturday night show!

Our Saturday nights were the LW Show followed by Hee Haw.

Wild Kingdom was always a favorite. Poor Jim. He always had to do the dangerous stuff. (Although he did manage to also get an appearance on Seinfeld, so he had that going for him.)

  :svengo:

my grandmother loved it.   grandpa and I would go find something else to do.

mil once asked if there was anything better than eating corn on the cob while watching LW.  the response from the rest of the family was "eating corn on the cob."
