Bree Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I feel like I'm constantly changing the little guy. My kids love to get dirty with food and dirt and anything else. I have a friend who has a baby the same age and he could probably stay in an outfit for a week the kid is so clean and the mom isn't constantly over him making sure he doesn't get dirty? Probably goes through 4 or more outfits a day :) Just wondering... Quote
NicAnn Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Just 1 usually. But we dont do purée foods, only whole chunks and nursing. I am also pretty relaxed on wearing dirty clothes, lol. Quote
I.Dup. Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Usually just 1. A couple times a week 2. I don't let him feed himself messy foods though, obviously that would increase the need to change clothes exponentially. lol Quote
Ravin Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Mine occasionally went through 2 outfits (usually at daycare), but we mostly kept them in just a diaper at home, because skin wipes off much more easily than clothing. I detest onesies because they tend to result in the shirt getting dirty in diaper-related mishaps, which is just unnecessary. I also don't feel the need to change a dirty shirt after every meal or whatever, unless it's really soaked or something, or I'm worried it'll stain. Quote
Parrothead Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Dd would go through one unless there was leakage somewhere. After dinner while she was being bathed her outfit was being soaked in cool soapy water due to her messiness while eating. Quote
MercyA Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Usually just one or two, but we *always* used something like this: towel bib or this: long-sleeve bib when eating. I used separate play clothes for "getting dirty" outside. I'm kind of uptight about stained clothes, I guess. :o Quote
SKL Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 1 for us, and it would serve as pj's too. :) When my kids were about 1.5, I gave away the bibs and made them eat shirtless (temporarily), so they could notice when they spilled food on themselves. This helped a lot. Quote
Mnemosyne Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 One, and it would sometimes even last a couple days. He tends to keep them pretty clean except for messy dinners. Quote
Changed Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 My two year old goes through at least three a day. But I let her feed herself spaghetti, yogurt, etc, and they always seem to get wet or dirty while playing outside. I feel like all I do is laundry! Quote
happyhomemaker Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Baby Bjorn bibs have saved my little ones' clothes time and time again. They are pricier than some other bibs, but they hold up so well that it's worth it. At one, my littles usually stayed in the same clothes all day. I didn't fuss over little stains unless we were going out somewhere. Quote
lavender's green Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Usually just one, but it was summertime when he was that age, so we'd undress him down to his diaper for meals! And since it was so hot he only played outdoors in the evening right before bed, so he'd go straight from dirty clothes to pajamas. Quote
MedicMom Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Usually one. My almost three year old, however, can keep a laundromat in business all by himself. Quote
Mommyof4ks Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 My kids ate what we ate at a year old, and they only needed a couple of outfits a day. Quote
