Is there a children's book that tells about st. nicholas or how the santa tradition started? I need a book to break the news to him. We introduced it when dd was little, and she literally memorized it because she wanted me to read it all the time. (We skipped straight to this because we didn't do Santa.) It goes through, not only the story of Saint Nicholas, but also how he evolved into the fat gift-bearing man in red that we see in the mall. My favorite line is at the end, "'Isn't that kind of like what God did?' asked Rachel thoughtfully. 'At Christmas, Father God gave us the gift of Jesus.'"
