cam112198
Did anyone make flashcards for OPGTR?
SarahPotter
Made them but never used them. We do all our lessons on the couch using a white board.
2GAboys
I bought the set from PHP and was glad I did due to the convenience. I taught two boys to read using this program and having the index cards for the games was VERY helpful.
alisoncooks
I just make them on index cards as we go along...

magnificat
I bought the set from PHP - never used them! I would be happy to send them to you if you pay for shipping. I will send you a PM in case you are interested.

ErinE
No, I just made a list of the sight words and we'd review them periodically with the whiteboard. DD has done a great job recognizing them through her daily reading.
KristenR
I use these magnetic letters from Leap Frog and coordinate it with our lessons. In trying to link it up I see that it looks like they changed the style a bit from what I have. You can see my girls using theirs here
reign
We used index cards to. My oldest needed to review common words. Dd2 is doing OPGTR now and does not need review.
kpnick in nc
I them for letters and sight words. For the games with phrases and sentences, I typed them out in large font, printed, and cut. Then I didn't feel obligated to save for other dc; DS got to keep game, and I have the file to print next time.
hsingscrapper
We made them with leftover business cards that were on hand. I let Dragon pick the marker color of the day (NO yellow) so he had some ownership of the process. We didn't save them as Mr. Picky Pants wasn't expected. We'll have to do that over again. go_go_gadget
I started to make them with index cards for my oldest, but didn't find them all that useful so I stopped, and never started for my younger.

skeeterbug
In case others are wondering, I didn't open the shrink-wrapped package! Can anyone else chime in with what is on the set of cards? I bought the download and printed them myself. It was a pain cutting them out because they were all different sizes, I'm not sure if it's because I printed on A4 and forgot to change the settings. There are pages and pages of cards. More than fit in a small index card box, I need two to store them. Basically anywhere in the book it tells you to write down words on index cards there is a flashcard for it. I found them especially useful when we were making mixed up sentences...you might need thirty cards for something like that and this way I wasn't tempted to skip it (like I might have if I didn't have the cards ready). But that's just me, I'd rather have it ready when we get there than have to quickly pull it together. That being said, I don't always use them, we also use a mini whiteboard or magnetic letters sometimes.
lbakos
I bought index cards and made my own as well.
basschick
No, we didn't make flashcards for OPGTR. With my oldest I made flashcards for the dolch sight words in addiction to OPGTR. With my youngest now we are working through the book flashcard-less, as he prefers to read stories than do flashcards.
Jazzmin
I bought the cards because they are inexpensive. I am glad I did because the book calls for a lot of cards to be made.
