  1. I used Proactiv in my 20's, it worked. However, when I hit my 30's and still had a monthly breakout, I looked to my diet. As others have said, eliminating sugar and grains helped a lot. Now, if I eat too much sugar, I will break out on my mouth/chin. I have really tried to adjust my diet, not my wash routine.
  2. I don't limit the book, but we (or rather, I) also don't read them all. Before we leave the library we go through what we have picked out just to make sure we need each book. When we bring the books home the kids know that after reading the books they need to be put back in our designated library bag, this really cuts down on misplaced books. We have two times a day when I always read aloud to them. I will read whatever books they ask during the alloyed time, we may not finish them though. I usually read a picture book when they ask, but if I am busy or we have something else to do, I will decline. My kids would love it if I read to them all day, but it isn't realistic and they have slowly learned that. Sometimes the older two will read to the smaller two, which helps a lot.
  3. I bought the cards because they are inexpensive. I am glad I did because the book calls for a lot of cards to be made.
  4. Thank you for the information, I appreciate it.
  5. I'm glad I ran across this thread because it made me take another look at the HLSDA's site. I see that IN has lowered the compulsory age to 6, which I was not aware of, does that mean I need to report to the DOE? What is the minimum amount of information they need? I see the DOE's form requests your name, address, and the age(s) of your child(ren).
  6. This was my 5yo DS2's first logic book and he found it fun, but easy. We also bought Critical Thinking Co.'s Mind Benders and Building Critical Thinking workbooks, which seem to be more challenging to him.
  7. I am new here, but you are in my thoughts. My mother went through something similar and I understand how scary it can be :grouphug:
  8. We are also keeping it pretty simple. I love the classical approach, but we are easing into it. I have a 3yo DD1 that sits in on the lessons, and she seems to love it as much as 5yo DS2 :)
  9. Reviving an old thread: My name is Jazzmin and I just started HS'ing my 5yo DS2 :seeya: I recently moved back to Bloomington from NE Indiana.
