Moxie
Besides thyroid, which I'm having tested, what would be making it hard for me to wake up in the morning. I'm not tired during the day but I'm not energetic either.
LaxMom
Could be thyroid, could be poor quality sleep, could be a deficiency in some nutrient(s). Honestly, sluggishness could be cause by a whole host of different things, hormonal, nutritional, immune... It's sort of non-specific. How long has it been going on? Do you have anything else going on?
BarbecueMom
:lurk5: Having the same problem here. Hard to wake up, achy from the hips down, arms feel like jelly, and a head fog. Not tired or in real pain, just... blah.
Jen in PA
Check your iron. I finally have my thyroid levels decent, but discovered that I need iron supplements to avoid that weak feeling.
Ellie
Sleep apnea?
love2read
High blood pressure, anemia, low levels of B (take B complex.)
sbgrace
I would check your iron levels and b vitamins too. If you don't have thyroid or deficiency issues I recommend you ask your doctor to do a sleep study.
snickerplum
I was tired all the time, too. I had NO energy. Lots of drs told me I was a hypochondriac and I needed pills for depression. So, I went to my KIDS dr and he ran tests. I was deficient in B12, D3, DHEA, Folate and I need T3 supplements for my thyroid. I'm taking (no joke) 16 different pills, plus I have to go in for shots some of my levels were so low. That's just to get me up to normal. He said I had the results of an 80 year old woman (I'm 31) and no wonder I was tired. A good doctor will get to the bottom of it! :grouphug:
ILiveInFlipFlops
When I eat too many carbs and not enough protein/veggies, I'm sluggish all the time. When I eat mostly protein, good fats, and veggies, I feel much more energetic.
TheTwinsMom1
I agree with lack of protein, missing some vitamins or sleep apnea.

When I eat mostly protein, good fats, and veggies, I feel much more energetic. I notice the same thing.
sbgrace
Oh--vitamin D. I forgot about that and it can certainly be a factor. Most people are deficient. You want a 25 OH D test and the level should be 50 or above. The lab slip may say 30's is normal but it's low.

It's possible that you're perfectly healthy, but in a physically trying season of your life. You may actually miss this when they're teens and the stress is mainly mental. :glare:
Beth in OH
I have this problem in August when we sleep with our windows open, and the air is cool, but muggy. For me, it is allergies.
BarbecueMom
I have this problem in August when we sleep with our windows open, and the air is cool, but muggy. For me, it is allergies. This may be my problem. Spent almost five hours outside on Monday, between running and walks and the park. I've felt like I've been hit by a truck since then.
