thescrappyhomeschooler
which I knew I wanted to make, but now for the life of me, I can't remember which recipe that was. I'm so old. :glare: So, suggestions on what to do with a hunk of parmesan? Jennifer in MI
EVERYTHING!!! Yum. I love parmesan! We put it on things - popcorn, veggies, rice, spaghetti, salad. I make a really good chicken alfredo - onions, chicken, cream cheese, milk, and LOTS of parm cheese. Eyeball everything. Serve over rice or noodles. Brilliant
Oh, this happens to me ALL THE TIME. I have a jar of sun-dried tomatoes in my pantry. I despise them on their own, but they were key to a recipe. Now if I could just remember what recipe... We go through a big hunk o' parmesan every month or so around here. We obviously grate it onto pasta - red sauce or into white sauce. Pasta salads, too. It's also great on green salads w/ italian dressing (you can shave it onto salads instead of grating). You can serve slices to munch on while you relax with your hubby over a glass of wine. :) It's key to a good pesto sauce. Enjoy it!
Trilliums
Was it lasagna? Crock pot lasagna--that is why I recently bought parmesan. I still need to make that; never made it before but i am pretty sure I got the idea here from The Hive.

justLisa
MMmmmm cabbage again! I don't tolerate dairy, but I can handle a wee bit of parmesan or pecorino grated fine.
I talk to the trees
Caesar salad? Actually, I have never met a salad that a little parmesan cheese wouldn't help! ;)
justasque
I grate it on top of quiche or mac cheese, so it gets a nice crusty top. We also grate it at the table on top of almost any pasta or rice dish. And of course it's the season for pesto making...

Barb_
Grilled cheese with sliced tomato, smoked provolone, freshly grated parm, and 5-6 leaves fresh basil. Yummy. Do you have a microplane grater?
Just Kate
Cut up a bunch of veggies, toss in olive oil, roast at about 400 degrees. About 10 minutes before the veggies are ready, top with grated parmesan. Yummy!!!
