Sun
It's one of the non-joys of getting older. I've developed brown spots on my face, and I want to get rid of them. Has anyone else had these and successfully gotten rid of them? :bigear:

Mom-ninja.
Sunscreen for starters. Check out Paula's Choice stuff. I love her products.

Spryte
I've had these three times, due to hormone treatments combined with sun exposure. The first time I used Obagi products to get rid of them. Obagi's price tag is a bit steep though, and there's some peeling for quite a while - but, wow, did my skin look great! I would love to use it again, actually. Later, a dermatologist Rx'd a cream - I used it, and it worked. It was not covered by insurance though, and ran around $120. Better cost than Obagi, and no peeling. And it worked, but had a black box label that scared me. In recent years, my family practice doctor has Rx'd a cream... I cannot recall the name, but can look it up probably... It works beautifully, though slowly. Most importantly - use sunscreen and wear a hat!
LibraryLover
You can try Retin A. Lots and lots of sunscreen. ;) Edited May 10, 2012 by LibraryLover

hsbaby
My mom had a chemical peel and that really lightened a lot of spots. I've tried OTC stuff to no avail. I just use a sunless tanner on my face, a good concealer, and hope they blend:) Edited May 9, 2012 by hsbaby
mytwomonkeys
i'm 40 and have 2 faint age spots on my left cheek bone. i hate them. in the 80's i bathed in baby oil baking in the sun though & that surely didn't help me much!:tongue_smilie:

mom2abcd
A friend does something with tumeric. I think she makes a paste with something and puts it on her skin. Or maybe she eats it. LOL Whatever it was, she said it works! Google...
laundrycrisis
I can't use hydroquinone. I use buttermilk. I mix it with some lotion and leave it on for about 20 minutes every morning. I wear zinc oxide sunscreen year round - the Coppertone Sensitive highest SPF one.
Mommyof4ks
Lemon juice on the backs of my hands faded those, but I do not yet have brown spots on my face, so I have not tried it there yet. I had to use it daily for a few weeks, but they are nearly gone without side effects.
