Exercise thread 12/18-12/24

Recommended Posts

Woke up too late by my standards to do much. Just some yoga stretches. I don't like working out when others are around. I'm not an exhibitionist and am quite private when it comes to exercise. :glare:

Had to stop because my little one wanted me. He has a cold and is needing my lap.

You probably don't want to hear this, but I really miss that stage. Mine still come to my lap, but I just babies and toddlers. :)

While I was running, my oldest was running behind me. He says with a giggle, "Mom, when you run your butt jiggles." Nice. :glare:

You're a woman and you're entitled to a certain amount of jiggle. :grouphug: :D

I did my yoga today. so three days so far this week. I love being able to breathe . . . .

It's good to have a place to report in, and feel accountable to someone other than my chiropractor. (who was on my case because I was so stiff, he could tell I hadn't been doing it.)

Yoga moves and lots of stretches - which my body and mind really needs at the moment since I'm quite worried about our ds limping. He's been limping quite severely in the past day or so. If by today he doesn't improve, we'll have to see a specialist. Saw our regular doctor yesterday. He wasn't much help.

Kristen, I am absolutely crazy about yoga. I learned it from a book back in 1982 when I was 14. Loved it ever since. I've taken classes over the years and have a great collection of DVDs. I wish I had time to do 30 mins - 1 hour of yoga as well as other stuff every single day.

45 minutes of Zumba on the Wii this morning, which wasn't at all what I had planned. My DVD player decided this morning to start acting up, and by the time I realized it just wasn't going to work it was too late to get to the gym for a run and be back in time for DH to leave for work. I'd wanted to get some ab work in. :tongue_smilie:

I have not been working out. My little one's cold is making it's way through the family, and I have not been spared.

This is the first day I've worked out this week - had an endoscopy on Tuesday and between the post-sedation blah and the piles of laundry and "Stop peeing on the carpet, child!" I haven't felt up to working out until now.

Did 30 Day Shred Level 1 to ease back into it, but upped the weights. I realized doing BFBM last week that I really like kickboxing! I did tae kwon do in college, but there's no room in the budget for an outside class for me. Which kickboxing/martial arts fitness DVD's do you recommend? :bigear:

Sadly, they are all pretty bad. Oh wait, maybe you could try Bas Rutten's cardio bag DVDs or George St. Pierre's RushFit. I love Bas but haven't tried his bag workout. I've heard good things about RushFit. Bas's is probably the closest to kickboxing but you need a heavy bag (not those free standing ones, they are terrible). RushFit is overall body conditioning for MA.

I did my 50 - 60 minute yoga workout. I'm not into variety. I am trying to do it every day. I really liked my old nordic track ski machine, and maybe eventually, I'll use it again.

I am trying to add in some kids yoga dvd's as yoga is good for ASD kiddo's. He will, kinda, do a few poses with me, but he freaked out at the kids dvd. .. . sigh. I'll keep trying.

Add 1 hour of yoga to my exercise for today. It was a rather hectic day today, so I needed something calm and soothing to settle my mind before bedtime. :) I really wish I could make before-bedtime-exercise work out more often, as I *love* going to bed with warm muscles, but it's often the only time I get to spend kid-free with DH during the day, so I don't do it often.
