GoVanGogh
bestie I really dislike this word, especially when it is said by anyone over 25. I agree. But I totally crack up whenever Amy Farrah Fowler say it on "The Big Bang Theory."

Janie Grace
Me too, for several reasons. A. "bestie" sounds like a word a tween would say B. I think it's immature for a grown woman to identify one person as her "best friend" -- esp. to another friend. Don't we all have friends that vary in closeness to us during different times? Why must there be a label/commitment to one friend? SO elementary school. So yeah... ick.

Lisbeth
I agree. Sometimes I cringe at people trying to sound young and hip. (I'm in my early 40s...) I do give Amy Farrah Fowler a pass though.
SquirrellyMama
People over 25 actually say this? I have some friends that say it to each other. And they seem all gushy when they do. It icks me a out a bit. I'm not sure I get that close to people so maybe I don't understand. Caitilin
Veggie. :glare: Please. Meaning food, or vegetarian practice? The first is fine with me, the second...not so much.:D
Heather in Neverland
bestie I really dislike this word, especially when it is said by anyone over 25. Kelly Oh yuck. I don't like it either.
Splinter
My 7 year old and her best friend have started saying it, and it's kind of cute. On anyone over 12, let alone 25, it's pretty lame.
IsabelC
Bestie sounds too much like beastie or beastly. BFF is worse, I keep imagining that it could stand for various other things, with the first F invariably coming out as a rude word
