Munchkins_mama
Is it one of those things where it is the same price everywhere? We are going to start putting my oldest DD in art class, and gymnastics around town. That means that the little two will be doing a lot of sitting and waiting and it would be nice to have an iPad for them to play with. That is my reason in theory. In reality, I like gadgets and I want an iPad. :tongue_smilie:
Running the race
I'd see if the Apple Store online has any refurbished ones. The warranty is the same as a new one.
LidiyaDawn
We bought ours right from the Apple store. :001_smile:
gingersmom
I got ours at the Apple Store. Love love love!!!! I can't wait to get another (the first one was a bday gift for my son).
TechWife
They are the same price everywhere. The Apple Store has them, of course, and I've also seen them at Target. WalMart may sell refurbished ipads, as I know they sell refurbished ipods.
Tracy in Ky
New ones are basically the same price everywhere. I wanted a warranty that went beyond what Apple offers, and the best deal I found was a WalMart--for $99 they insure it no matter what--drops, cracked screen, water damage, etc. I love the peace of mind. jennsmile
For the cost of a new one you could buy 2 Amazon Fires and keep them both occupied. :D
jelbe5
We bought our first generation, refurbished iPad direct from Apple. Fast, free shipping and a warranty.
JFSinIL
I took SillyAutismMan to Best Buy to mess around with a Kinect...ended up having more fun on the demo iPad in the store. Guess which item we left with? ;) I agree - same price all over. Pick a location where you can go in and get one (I have had electronic items ordered on-line never make it here - empty, re-taped boxes, yes - but no item.) pink&bluemommy
If you are military you can buy it at the exchange and save like $10 off retail, but the big thing is you don't have to pay tax. If you can buy it somewhere without paying tax, that is your best bet!
catz
Don't know what conditions are like now but I spent a couple weeks trying to get one from an apple store. I also ordered on eon line and they kept moving out the shipping date. I gave up at 4 weeks. I bought mine in 3 seconds from best buy no problem for the same price of the apple store or online. redheadmom
My Sam's Club had them for the same price = $499 for 16G wifi only.
Munchkins_mama
Thanks for your suggestions. I'm not military, but I live 30 minutes from a no-tax state. :001_smile:
Munchkins_mama
Another quick question. Is the base model of the iPad enough? I have a 32g iPod and have every bit of apps, books, music I have in iTunes is on it and there is still 11g left.
warriormom
Try Microcenter. They gave the ipad on sale for $450. My husband got a $50 off coupon for ipad or accessories. Got an ipad today for $400 (oh and I had credit for a laptop that fell apart during the accidental warranty period at microcenter). After credit, we paid $180 out of pocket.
