bry's-gal
We are working on putting the house on the market. We are needing to start packing things up to store. Where do I get boxes? Especially smaller ones for books?

IlluminatedAttic
Try your local Freecycle group, often see them offered there.
Tabrett
Liquor stores. :iagree: I just moved over the weekend. I got so many boxes from the liquor store. Our store puts them out front for people to take. I filled up my van several time.
Susan C.
It was either Lowes or Home Depot, at $1 each in a pack.

Desert Rat
Well, I get my smaller boxes from the food pantry I work for. Perfect size for shipping boxes and moving. Growing up, we got boxes from the grocery stores because my dad worked in one.
Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
It was either Lowes or Home Depot, at $1 each in a pack. Be careful with the boxes yopu get from Home Depot. They are recycled and don't hold up very well. Most of the boxes we bought from HD tore or broke by the time the movers moved them into our new house. The ones from Lowes are a little more but they are better quality. The book boxes have handles which make it easier to move them.
sleepymommy
Look on Craigslist or Freecycle. We got a lot of moving boxes for one of our moves from Craigslist before and I've always advertised on both Craigslist and Freecycle for my moving boxes after our moves. I've also had luck at Walmart, grocery stores, liquor stores and Barnes and Noble (great boxes for books!). If your in the Northern Va area PM me, I've got a ton of moving boxes right now. Belacqua
I've been warned about grocery store boxes, as some people have found bugs in them. That's never been a problem for us, but I suppose it is something to keep in mind.

AnitaMcC
I bought some at Home Depot. I got over 10 boxes of each small, large, and xlarge for under $30. I also have a 10% military discount.
specialmama
Liquor stores have the best boxes. If you call them, they'll set them aside. They're strong and often come with removable bottle dividers which are great for glasses, vases, compartments for toiletries, etc.
Ali in OR
Kinkos used to sell old paper boxes for a quarter a piece. I liked them for books--not too big, strong enough, had lids that you could lift to just check what was inside! So maybe try any place that does photocopying. Katiebug_1976
I would check with your local grocery stores.
