TN Mama
Does this cover a full year?
Guest
No, it does not. REAL Science 4 Kids covers 10 weeks. I would look at NOEO Science Chemistry 2. http://noeoscience.com/index.html

TN Mama
Ellen McHenry's The Elements Do you use this with something else to cover a year's worth of material?
Surfside Academy
I would take a looks at The Elements and Elementary Science Chemistry (which we are currently using.) It's listed as a Grammar stage science but it seems pretty meaty. You could beef it up with some additional reading selections. I've been very pleased with it so far. Aquinas Academy
We love Noeo.
oraetstudia
I think if you did RS4K for one semester (at least for us, ten weeks always seems to stretch out and fill a semester), and Ellen McHenry's The Elements for the other semester, you would have a great year of chemistry. Osaubi
We are 5 weeks away from finishing Mr.Q's Classic Science. My ds is on the young end of a science co-op that is using this curriculum. They have learned a lot about chemistry and they have done some really cool experiments. I also supplimented The Elements by Ellen McHenry, and Fizz, Bubble, and Flash book but it is NOT needed at all. My ds is a science loving kid! bethben
We are also doing Elemental Science Chemistry. If you compare it to Noeo science, the books used are pretty much the same. Beth
Capt_Uhura
There is also INquiry in Action by American Chemical Society. It's free but you have to print the student pages.
cschnee
Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) also has some great units on chemistry. Very hands-on and real life, easy to do and they don't take very long. They'd be excellent to go with RS4K and/or Ellen McHenry's The Elements. We've done all these progrmas in the past and all were very successful.
