Oak Knoll Mom
Check this out. Some people in the comments seem to think it's a practical joke, but she insists that it's real.

Doran
Check this out. Some people in the comments seem to think it's a practical joke, but she insists that it's real. It may be real in the sense that she may not have been the one to put it there, but I'd bet it's a fake critter, possibly installed there by some jokester kid, or even a jokester husband. If it turns out it's really real, I'm calling Monsanto to let them know that GMO induced insect mutations are way out of control! ;)

Melissa in Australia
looks like a type of stick insect to me.
melissel
It looks like it's made of fabric and wire to me! Seriously, if that's a real bug, someone needs to call in some professionals.
5kidsforME
Check this out. Some people in the comments seem to think it's a practical joke, but she insists that it's real. That CAN NOT be real. Please tell me that is not real........ :001_huh:
elbac
 Before even reading the comments, I was going to say that it looks more like an alien. I have to agree with others, it really doesn't look real. The wings especially appear to be made out of fabric. That said, bug hater that I am, it still grosses me out. :ack2:
*anj*
Yeah, it totally looks like something that was made with stuff you can buy at a craft store. Look at the middle section of it. There's fabric twisted and tied underneath another layer of fabric. It's fake. Oh, and this: If it turns out it's really real, I'm calling Monsanto to let them know that GMO induced insect mutations are way out of control! ;)is reallllly funny, Doran! dalynnrmc
I agree. It's fake. Or, I suppose a better answer to the question would be: It's a craft project! I wonder which of her kids is studying bugs and made this model. ;)
Oak Knoll Mom
Not real.

It is a nice model of someone's idea of a mutant bug.
Doran
Not real. I was sure it wasn't real, but she seemed so convinced that I was convinced the bug was put there by someone else. Bingo! And, thank goodness it's not real!! I was kind of dreading the idea of having to call Monsanto! :smilielol5:
