scrapbookbuzz
Have any of you ever learned tatting? I began to teach myself over a year ago but then did not continue. I plan on starting back up again. Any kind advice for a novice? Thanks!
Twigs
I don't have any advice, but I did teach myself to tat from a book. It is basically 1 stitch (in 2 parts if I remember correctly, I haven't done it in years.) I just sat down with the book and went over the steps over and over and over - eventually it clicked. If I can do it so can you!! Best wishes.
unsinkable
No, but I try to tattle as much as possible! "Just wait until your dad gets home!" J/K
Impish
I thought, "I had three brothers. Tattling was survival" Tatting, no.
scrapbookbuzz
No "L" in tatting, you instigators, you! :D It's a type of thread work. Sheesh.
Jean in Newcastle
I've seen ladies do it as a demonstration at our state fair. I think there are instructions online but I haven't tried them. Maybe once I've burned out on my current obsessions. . .
Rosie_0801
Alas. Another thing still on my "I haven't done it yet, but want to" list. Don't forget to post your efforts into the crafters challenge thread at the end of the month! ;) Rosie
OrganicAnn
We have lots of tatters in my family. I can tat, my sister, my great aunt was the best. You know you are in a tatting family when you have a tatted tablecloth. :)
3lilreds in NC
Oooh, I would love to tat! My great-grandmother could tat beautifully. I still have some of the tatted lace-edged pillowcases she did. I've seen the stuff at Michael's/AC Moore and been so, so tempted. I am afraid dh might send me away if I take up another hobby, but the tatting stuff is small and easily hidden... heh heh heh.
