It was part of a Bad Year (Grandma dying, illness, bullying, cut from travel hockey team) for DS and it contributed to a really low time in DS's & our lives. Well, this year, DS is in a better place. He played volleyball in the fall instead of travel hockey. He moved up a level in hockey on his school team. He's been running with the track team because if he doesn't make the baseball team, he wants to have not missed the beginning of track. So for the past 2 1/2 weeks he has been going to school, doing track practice for 2+ hours, coming home, eating and going back to school for 2 hours of baseball tryouts. Then homework. He's so happy when he goes to baseball tryouts. The first tryout was 1.5 hours but they realized it wasn't long enough so they increased it to 2 hours. DS was thrilled. He kept saying how great that they could do 1 hour of hitting and 1 hour of fielding. I can't even explain it. I think a part of him just wants to think it is baseball practice and not tryouts. Even though he is preparing himself that he might not make it, I think there is still a part of him that is so hopeful... As for me, I have SO MUCH HOPE that DH is mad at me. DS is a good, solid baseball player plus he's a good boy. He's not an academic problem or a behavior problem. Last year, they had issues w/both on the team. So, all that to say... If you can spare a quick prayer, good thought, or some crossed fingers, please do! UPDATE: Team list will be posted tomorrow after homeroom! FINAL UPDATE: He did NOT make the team.
