BMW Posted July 21, 2010 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Our local Target is hiring. I had a great first interview, from my perspective anyway.... I received a call to come in this morning for the next interview... and woke up with a cold sore on my bottom lip and it is a little swollen. Drats!!!!! I have been holding ice on it, hoping to reduce the swelling. It has that white-ish look to it right now. It's not very noticeable until I have to move my lips to talk... well, I have to talk at an interview! Do I just go and give it my best, ignoring the sore? I know that they have several people lined up... not as many after the first rounds of interviews... and I don't want to call and ask to re-schedule... aaaaah! G5052 Posted July 21, 2010 Share Posted July 21, 2010 I'd apologize for it upfront at the interview, but then I'd go on. I've interviewed with a bad cold, on crutches, very pregnant, you name it. The most interesting was negotiating for a higher level and pay while my 16 m.o. was rooting around under the man's desk. He said to come in by noon or he couldn't change the terms, and seemed agreeable to having me bring the little character along, so I took a chance and it went fine! I iced it all morning, put a nice sheer-gloss-color on that was just a shade darker than my lips and had a great interview... got offered the job!
