Also, I think Hurley knew it wasn't Locke. He just doesn't know what else to call him. I remember him mentioning his name once butI can't recall who he mentioned it to but I think only one of the people on the island knows it. SproutMamaK Posted April 14, 2010 Share Posted April 14, 2010 I got the impression that Desmond was trying to make Locke remember the island, and figured the only way to do so was by having a near death experience like he and Charlie did. I didn't consider that he might truly want to kill Locke, since killing Locke the first time around is what "allowed" him to become the man in Black in the first place.
