Karen in CO
I am starting this child on LCC - I plan to actually use the schedule in LCC for K . It schedules folk tales and fairy tales for the year. I am also going to do some FIAR units from the first two books with her.
MissKNG
Absolutely not! I just like to have it scheduled. Â Oh good! I was like "oh no, what am I missing??!!"

jengjohnson
I'm planning to cheat and buy the Sonlight K guide. We already have most of the books, but I'll get the few that we don't have b/c they look really good. This is for my last kindergartener and if it isn't scheduled I know that it won't happen, LOL. I can't wait to go through the books with her! Â Of course, we'll still re-read all the wonderful picture books, I especially enjoy most of the FIAR titles.

Terabith
Aurelia, how did you find a copy of The Giraffe That Walked to Paris? Our library doesn't have it; they say they can't get it thru interlibrary loan, and it's a fortune on amazon. Is there a secret stash somewhere I don't know about???? :D Â Thanks. I'm a bit obsessive about children's books. My mother was a children's librarian, and I have ocd and love kids books, so......

kubiac
Just pulled up this this thread from a few years back and these lists are amazing. One note: Stevie by John Steptoe is quite "intense," by which I mean it generates a lot of hard questions and feelings in the reading. Â We had it but I gave it away because the emotions and the internally narrated evolving point-of-view seemed like it wasn't a good match for my kid at this stage. Maybe in a couple of years.
