I'm planning to cheat and buy the Sonlight K guide. We already have most of the books, but I'll get the few that we don't have b/c they look really good. This is for my last kindergartener and if it isn't scheduled I know that it won't happen, LOL. I can't wait to go through the books with her!

Of course, we'll still re-read all the wonderful picture books, I especially enjoy most of the FIAR titles.

Charlotte's Web

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Charlie and The Chocolate Factory

Pippi Longstocking

Pippi Goes on Board

Aurelia, how did you find a copy of The Giraffe That Walked to Paris? Our library doesn't have it; they say they can't get it thru interlibrary loan, and it's a fortune on amazon. Is there a secret stash somewhere I don't know about???? :D

Thanks. I'm a bit obsessive about children's books. My mother was a children's librarian, and I have ocd and love kids books, so......

Our library has a copy. We checked it out at least 3 separate times because Ariel liked it so much. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to get it through ILL, though.

Just pulled up this this thread from a few years back and these lists are amazing. One note: Stevie by John Steptoe is quite "intense," by which I mean it generates a lot of hard questions and feelings in the reading.

We had it but I gave it away because the emotions and the internally narrated evolving point-of-view seemed like it wasn't a good match for my kid at this stage. Maybe in a couple of years.
