  1. They do make extra tall ones now (why the heck didn't they have these when DS was two?). https://www.walmart.com/ip/Regalo-Extra-Tall-Baby-Gate-29-40-with-Walk-Through-Door-and-Extensions/39201053#read-more
  2. I'm a huge fan of high chairs and baby gates at that age. I also found that strapping them into a carseat in front of an activity table would keep them occupied for a bit. Honestly, toddlers require craptons of supervision. If toddler cannot be in direct vision, toddler needs to be securely in a safe area (child-proofed playroom, etc).
  3. I've been using a Singer Simple for about 8 years now. It's very easy to use.
  4. The way our Pediatrician "trained" me was a 102+ fever lasting more than 3 days or a 101ish fever lasting more than 5 days warranted a visit to the doctor. We never get really emergency room concerned about a fever unless it jumps over 104.5 and won't come down with medication or a tepid bath (and that is mainly because DD starts hallucinating at that point). We actually don't even medicate until they hit over 102 and are miserable.
  5. A House Supervisor is the nurse in charge of the entire hospital. The guy in the white even SAID she was just doing her job. The guy on the phone again who was the hospital administrator asked why he was getting mad with HER because she is the just the messenger, meaning she was following HIS orders. The hospital I worked at, it could have easily taken more than 10-20 minutes for an administrator to arrive. Heck, it often took that long just for a House Supervisor to arrive when issues would come up depending on where they were in the hospital at the time and our's wasn't even that big. But for administration to come over to our unit, they had to go down 3 flights in an elevator, leave that building and walk about 50 ft to another entrance and through the hospital to the backside where we were. And if it was during the day, the administrator on the phone could have been gone to a meeting at another location, off site for lunch, etc. At the end of the video, there is another woman who shows up and is talking to the police also. I think they were just on the way but didn't anticipate a psychotic bully cop going off.
  6. Another thing that I think keeps getting lost is this man was already OUT of the ER and had been admitted to the burn unit. He was probably being KEPT under heavy sedation due to the extent of his injuries, meaning any NEW blood draw would show whatever drugs the hospital was administering also.
  7. They said they were on their way on the phone call and the guy in the white shirt, I am pretty sure was the House Supervisor. The guy in the white shirt also said administration was on the way and had the Privacy Officer on the phone too. The nurse was the charge nurse from the burn unit I think.
  8. Or get a warrant in the FIRST place, since that's, you know, the law....... I really think they knew they wouldn't get a judge to sign off for a warrant for blood on an unconscious victim.
  9. I bet their policies absolutely did and the body cam footage basically shows that the first officer has bullied nurses into providing him with blood illegally before because he said once or twice "I've never had it go this far" which is telling that they have had opposition in the past.
  10. There were 2 officers present for the arrest. The body cam footage from each of them has been released. Officer #2's video was approximately 20 minutes. After she was place in the car an ADDITIONAL officer arrived and proceeded to tell her exactly how this all would have been avoided if she had just done the blood draw and if they were illegally taking the blood, the victim has civil recourse to address that and that she was obstructing justice. They admitted that the patient was not under arrest and they did not have a warrant.
  11. Our insurance won't pay for a prescription ONE day before the 30 day refill due date, even my son's asthma inhalers. It must be 30 days exactly in order to get a refill. Antibiotics that are prescribed a 2 week regimen can only be refilled on the 15th day, etc. So no, it's really NOT that easy to get a surplus of medication. Just because a doctor will prescribe it, doesn't mean people can actually pay for it.
  12. Thank you! That was very helpful. I will run by the game shop this week to see about their specifics!
  13. Depending on where you live, you may be able to remove it yourself. A lot will depend on your state's laws. http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/eh/asbestos/floortile/resft.html
  14. He would be joining an existing D&D group at one game shop nearby. The Star Wars game is sometimes played at another game shop that he goes to play Pokemon at so I suppose I could message the shop owners. I was just trying to get an idea of what to buy without having to ask them because I know they'll want me to buy the stuff there and one has a really high markup. I would be starting him with basic stuff that I can get as gifts. He has his own income to add to it later.
  15. The boy teenager has decided he wants the D&D as well as Star Wars XWing Miniatures games... WHAT the heck do I need to buy? Are the specific expansion packs that are must haves to play, etc? Help me!
  16. Try using some Duocal or Benecalorie. Those added to foods that my son was already eating, as well as a prescription for Periactin to stimulate his appetite, were the most effective for us. Using a drink supplement like Pediasure only filled him up and kept him from eating foods. It was almost like a meal replacement for him instead of addition to. http://www.myduocal.com/ https://www.nestlehealthscience.us/brands/benecalorie/benecalorie-hcp
  17. I used to have to stay certified. My employer used CPI trained instructors. You might check with your local mental health facilities to see if they have anyone who offers courses.
  18. See, I haven't had any issues keeping my paint clean. We renovated with the intention of adding a backsplash later and here we are 3 years later with no backsplash. I painted the kitchen with a 3 coats of high quality semi-gloss paint and everything just wipes straight off! Remember, even with tile, you're still gonna have to clean it so go with what is going to clean the easiest!
  19. Another vote for letting them work it out. Our's even spazz if one leaves and goes to the vet for a day or two or gets outside for a few hours because they come back smelling different. It usually takes them several hours to remember they have been BFFs for 5 years.
  20. If you are going to pay out of pocket for the program (Federal Financial Aid can be applied to tuition), watch the schools in your area for tuition specials. DD is eyeing it also and the best one around has a half price tuition program if you sign up mid-year.
  21. Next time the situation comes up, I would just ask the other parents why the older kids can't have some big kid time to just hang out without the littles. My daughter is the oldest grandchild and very much felt like she was made to watch the little kids while the adults checked out. We just put a stop to it but allowing DD to hang out inside with the adults instead of making her go out.
  22. I like homeschoollife. I just hate the cost. We try to keep our membership fees low so it isn't cost prohibitive, so we would have to raise them to pay for the site.
  23. Do they use Facebook? Have a message forum? Email? Does anyone use Google Groups? I think I asked this before but can't find the thread.
  24. See, I like the look of it also. I have one that balks at History, but might go for this since it incorporates his beloved Youtube.
