  1. I didn't vote. I think it depends on the child. My son will be 5 on the 30th of August. We started "school" this past year. Sometimes he wants to. Sometimes not. We read everyday. He counts everything all day long.:D I have started OPGR with him. He has the Math-U-See primer, and we ordered Sonlight core P3/4. (Just started this. He loves the stories :)) Starting school was his idea. My oldest dd turned 5 five days before she started PS. She hated school from that day forward. I want to make sure my ds never goes through that. Both girls are now hsed. (Almost 3 yrs now.) I'm not sure if it is because he is the baby, or after the older kids you just aren't as strict anymore. There is 11 yrs. between my youngest and oldest child. I also think because he is a boy he is just wired differently. He's not as mature as the two girls seemed to be. We're just taking it slow and steady, and letting him lead the way. I want us to have fun with the whole learning process. ;)
  2. My ds did not like it at all. :glare: I did not like the Spanish lessons. He would not watch the vids. Now we use OPGTR (I hope I have that right :)) He is 4 and doing great. Maybe he was too old for it? Not sure. Hope this helps.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to help. As always you have great advice. I think I will nix the K and go with one of the P cores. ;) All I want is the core and maybe the science. We'll see...:tongue_smilie: Rose
  4. I have never used Sonlight, but I've heard great things. I won't try to use it with the oldest two, but was looking at it for the 4yro. The books look great. Would you use the PK3/4 or go straight for K? I was wondering if I buy the core for K could I use it for 2 yrs? Thanks for any help you may have. :001_smile: Rose I love my online advice buddies :grouphug:
  5. :iagree:We had a Lop. She was litter box trained, also. The only problem we had with Babette was chewing on the steps in the house. :001_huh: Silly rabbit! :D
  6. I'm a Mary Kay girl myself. ;) I love the highlighting pen, and firming eye cream for night.
  7.:lol::lol: I use "bless your heart" only when I am extremely annoyed. Most people never catch on. This is the best one I've ever heard,"Well bless her heart her mirror must have malfunctioned.":lol::lol: Bless your heart, hogwash, and fiddlesticks. Those are my Granny's favorite sayings. (And she always smiles when she says them:001_huh:)
  8. Why would there be a fuss? Every answer is personal to that persons' heart. I hope this helps some. I was probably as clear as mud. It's not that easy to put my faith into words.;)
  9. Throwing no stones here. I thought girls were only this dramatic. They really get off on the woe is me garbage. :glare: I don't have an answer, but you are not in this alone. I ignore a lot of it, address what I have to, and generally pray that this "phase"will end soon. :tongue_smilie: :lurk5: Let's see what everyone else has to say.
  10.:lol::lol: She needs to read some of these posts. She would really get her knickers in a twist!:lol::lol:
  11. Not sure about you guys, but I think my 4yro is more eloquent.:lol: NO Mommy! Me do it tomowow...That was his sentence of the day (All day), but he got his point across.;)
  12. :iagree:I read the book befor I found the forum. Information Overload!! I love the book, but it is not a one time read. Sometimes people on here can be very intimidating. It is hard enough to get the courage up to post for the first time. I was lucky. Everyone seemed nice. I have gotten tons of great advice. I appreciate the fact that I have a place to go to have my questions answered. Aren't we suppose to be here for each other? I would stop posting if someone had made me feel like I had asked a "stupid" question.:001_huh: I hope this made sense. It is almost 2:30 in the morning. Please forgive any mistakes.:D
  13. We school at the table in our travel trailer during the week. Talk about no space! I try to be organized and only bring out 1 subject at a time...not very good at organized :tongue_smilie:Even when I'm at home and have the whole house it's still hard to keep everything in one area. We tend to spread out everywhere. :001_huh:
  14. I am one of 3 children. When we were little I shared a room with my 2 little brothers. (There was no choice, the house only had 2 bdrms) I learned to love to play cars ;) I can remember the youngest bro. in his crib in our room. I also remember him falling out of the crib for the first time. :001_huh: I think it would be good for the older one to share a room with the younger. I bet he even starts helping with him more. :001_smile: Don't worry about the early bird waking his brother. He will sleep right through it.
  15. I loved this! Thank you for sharing. Today is special to me as it is our 16th anniversary. What a great thing to see.
  16. I would say "thank you", and pray about it myself. God always comes right on time.
  17. Welcome back.:001_smile: I can't help you with the math, I've never used it before, but I wanted to say your new "house" sounds beautiful!
  18. I would love to share. I lost my grandfather 2 yrs ago. He was the one who did all the family stuff. E-mail me.
