  1. Once a week. I'd love to do them more but I'm drowning in laundry as it is.
  2. My dd had a tonsillectomy at age 4. We chose to go into the OR with her and hold her hands as she went under. I think it brought her a tremendous peace of mind to look into my eyes as she "went out." It was very surreal to see her go limp. It bothered me greatly. i would chose to do it again though because it was very reassuring for her. Here she is getting the anaesthesia in the OR.
  3. My almost 11 y/o pretends to hate hugs and kisses but I know he loves them. :) He'll snuggle up with me (and/or dh) on the couch to watch a movie or read together.
  4. 1/2 cup chopped cilantro 1/2 cup tequila 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1/4 cup triple sec 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 2 teaspoons minced garlic 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 1 teaspoon salt Blend together all ingredients, except salmon, in gallon size zip-lock plastic bag or flat dish. Add salmon to marinade; turn several times to coat. Cover, if needed, and refrigerate for 1 hour (or longer), turning salmon over after 30 minutes. We usually grill it in the Gorge Foreman.
  5. The more posts you make the "higher" your status becomes larvae is after about 10 and worker bee is after about 50 posts. hth
  6. Have you tried google images? They usually have lots of good stuff. Be specific and look for things like flowers, animals, or put "clip art" in the search to get more PG rated stuff. hth
  7. In 2004 C-Span in the classroom had some great stuff. They sent me a huge US map that had all the electoral college information on it and a few other things. I'm not sure what they're offering this year but here's the link: http://www.c-spanclassroom.org/Campaign2008_Resources.aspx hth
  8. We loved the girl who did the Britney/Carrie Underwood impressions.
  9. [quote name= Here's how to do it. On the forums' main board' date=' scroll all the way to the bottom where you'll see a list who's currently logged on. Click on your name. You will then have the option of seeing all posts you've posted to or to see only the posts started by you. Click on one of the those options and a list is displayed. Makes it much easier to answer questions others have asked of you. You can also use this option to search for people whose posts you like to read most (like Susan Wise Bauer ;) ).[/quote] You can also just click on your name (or anyone else's) in any thread.
  10. There's a fine line between funny and stupid. I strongly dislike these type of games. IMO, the tp or string around the mamma's belly is okay. Eating baby food and sniffing diapers isn't.
  11. My dd and I both have tried it in the past. It gave her horrible, vivid nightmares. It helped me fall asleep but I felt depressed all the time. I didn't realize it was the melatonin until I stopped taking it. If he does use it have him spend extra time in the sunlight soaking up the serotonin. :)
  12. My dh has a GED (and a college degree). Many people, still today, associate a GED with high school drop outs. If at all possible I'd graduate him early instead. I know for my dh, he really regrets going the GED route. It might not matter now but in 15 years he may wish that he had that diploma. Good luck, it's a hard decision.
  13. But this week was C-O-L-D! Dh was supposed to take the kids skiing Thursday but the windchill was -30? to -40? above 11,000 feet. I can't even imagine being that cold!
  14. I scrolled through some of the member list. It's so much fun to put faces with names. :)
  15. The colors are fun and set the tone perfectly! Great job!
  16. I love your name. :) I'm spending too much time playing around this morning.
  17. Cold turkey worked okay for me. I'm still strugging with going to bed early. Even after waking at 3:30am my body wants to stay up late. :( I hit a wall around 3pm and want to nap then after dinner I can barly keep my eyes open. But I get a second wind around 8. I'm good to go until midnight. UGH! Good luck. I hope your transition goes better than mine.
