We talk about appropriate for work/activity and following dress codes if required. Other than that, we discuss how people may "read" your clothes, but more in the fact that my 17 yo refuses to match anything (orange, purple, rainbow, and blue sequins all go together, right?). We attended a co-op where we all disagreed with the (restrictive but only for females) dress code, but the kids decided they would follow it since they wanted to go. Their place, their rules if you will.

How little could you make and still be ok?
historically accurate replied to Ann.without.an.e's topic in The Chat Board
We are at our minimum - there is no extra money. We do collect medical debt every year. So, to not fall deeper into medical debt, we'd have to make more (probably a lot more since we would no longer have any written off). Since I don't want to calculate that because it would only depress me, I used the amount we are at. -
Good job!

Ship to store (especially a store not used to doing this, but if you offer it...) - this should be quick and easy. Instead, you stand in line, wait for a manager, then wait for someone who knows how to do it, then wait to check out, then wait for them to locate the actual box(es). Then, you can leave. I recently picked up 100 mugs at Family Dollar for a work project - it was a 45 minute ordeal. Don't offer ship to store if you don't train your employees (even the store manager) how to handle it.

I started a new job in February of 2022, so I've learned a lot about governmental accounting. My previous and only brush with fund accounting prior to this was approximately 25 years ago in college. I attempted some crochet this year, but I only produced a couple of wonky washcloths. I haven't decided if I will keep at it. My adult child has moved back home, and I'm learning the art of holding my tongue. LOL I've learned way more than I ever wanted to about invisible illness.

I thought of this thread when I woke up this morning. Yesterday, oldest went into Chicago with some online friends (none of whom I know). She was not home by the time I went to bed. I slept really well last night (and that's unusual for me), and I didn't even notice when she came home. It really hit home how unlike Person A I am. DH slept lightly till she came home, got up when she came in, and then really went to sleep.

I don't know that I really had goals per se - I did pay off a credit card that had been hanging around for a while, made some progress on some debt, added to medical debt though. I lost weight, but I hadn't really set out to do so when I started, but then it became a goal. Hope to reach goal weight in 2023.

The clerk at my job - she is so sweet and caring. -
I set Alexa to remind me to "Do the FAFSA" one time, and she told me to Fast Dance.

I definitely fit Person B more in the original example. I don't need to know what someone is doing in their own space, even if they are my people. I missed that gene apparently; I don't worry about my teens, my parents, DH, etc. I just trust that things will be ok because there is usually very little I could actually do about it if it does go horribly wrong. I see Person A's view in that a text is what they would prefer, and I know it's really common, but I don't necessarily fully understand it. Note: I do the text thing when I arrive for DH's sake, but only because I've trained myself to do it.

Amazon Prime’s ever-increasing price
historically accurate replied to Ginevra's topic in The Chat Board
We dumped ours earlier this year when it was set to renew because of price. I miss it sometimes - holding carts until we meet the minimum for free shipping is a bummer when you really need X. I'm really kind of starting to hate the pay for higher levels of service economy that we seem to be moving toward. Walmart +, Amazon Prime, etc. We use Amazon for subscribe and save a lot, so we do have the VISA card where we get 5% back. -
