It was great. Thee was another 6 year old there who was just starting BA. They had a good time puzzling things out together. :)

  12. Sacha's charter school added a new class to the Spring schedule -- Creative Constructions. They will be exploring construction, engineering, and architecture. He is very excited!

How exciting! One of my favourite projects at primary school was when defended our engineering unit with a bridge building competition. We were given a few specifications, and much paper, sticky tape, and straws.

Ds is only allowed to read them in Spanish. They are translated in 10 languages last thing I knew.

  14. The 5 year old beat me at Prime Climb!

  15. Started back on Isagenix today. Time to get this baby weight off!

  16. Why is every Torah-related homeschooling curriculum written by Messianic Jews (i.e. Christians). Gah! I smell a business opportunity.

Could you approach a Jewish day school and see if they'd be interested in offering a home study curriculum or online classes? A lot of the Catholic online stuff started that way...

Do Hebrew schools have textbooks (like Catholic CCE)? They might have nice TE, workbooks, activity guides? Heck, they might have websites with videos. Good luck finding something. It's so frustrating when you're used to high quality hs materials to have to scrounge up something from school materials or trade books.

  17. 82 degrees forecasted for Thanksgiving. I am indeed thankful for San Diego.

Have a wonderful one! Ds was just there for the Hot Rum series, his first go with a J70. He loved the weather.

No, obviously not a sailor, since it was a J88, but ds is and loves it. We all love San Diego.

  18. It's game day! Beat the Bruins!

  19. Going to play in the snow in 70 degree weather (care of Sea World).

  20. Yep, Gnocchi al Pesto is still my electric chair meal.

I do not know that I have considered my electric chair meal...might just have to think on that one. Never know when it might come in handy.

  21. Shana Tova to all who celebrate!

  22. Apartment shopping in So Cal is so depressing. Everything under 2k/month is a dump.

Sympathies here, too! Dd is currently shopping for roommates before looking for an apartment in San Diego. She's figuring it will take 3 incomes for the places she likes.

She is right, Kathy. But, I guess that I don't need to school your daughter in math. ;) Our boat is in Point Loma, but we are looking in Mission Valley.

Dd is looking in the same general area :-) AoPS is moving to Poway in Nov, but she doesn't want to be stuck in the suburbs. Hope you find something you like!

Yes. It was kinda nutty, but am very happy. :)

  24. 12 weeks off during the summer. Math and reading are still strong, but handwriting needs some work!

  25. Having a bar in the salon is the best thing ever! Cheers!
