  1. Possibly some type of inflammatory disease. I have Crohn's and when it is flaring I run low to mid grade fevers that come and go. My doctor told me that fevers like that can be an inflammatory response. I know that is a drastic answer and I truly hope that's not the case.
  2. Yes! Mine does have to be refrigerated and I bring it out for 30 minutes or so.
  3. I am taking Cimzia. My insurance insisted I try it before paying for Humira. Cimzia is an actual syringe because the medicine is very think. But it doesn't burn going in, unlike Humira.
  4. My shots aren't Humira, my insurance wouldn't cover it. So I am taking Cimzia. Humira is usually an injection pen instead of a syringe. I think that would a lot easier. You just set the pen against your skin and push a button. Mine I have to push the needle in and then inject the medicine. Good luck! I hope the Humira works for your DS!
  5. He could and would except he is out of town more than he is home. So, I feel like I need to be able to do it. Odds are, he won't be home on the day I need to do it.
  6. I have Crohn's Disease and have just started a biologic injection. Each dose is two injections. I just did my third dose. I am not scared of needles. I am not scared of shots. In fact, I had to take weekly progesterone shots during my third pregnancy but DH admistered them. I am a trained phlebotomist. But giving MYSELF a shot is really, really hard. The first dose I did at the Doctors office with a nurse. She did one and I did the other. The second dose I did at home but nearly passed out after. The third dose was a bit better, but it still took me 5 minutes of holding the syringe above my stomach before I was able to actually "do it." I sure hope this gets easier. Please tell me it gets easier?
  7. I do. I am not super strict with it, but I live in Texas and it is very much the norm here. Neither DH or I were raised with it. It is expected here so I have at least exposed them to. I do like when I get a "yes ma'am" back. At least for my kids, if they say that, then they have heard me.
  8. I can read if it is generally "noisy", like TV noise or the kids playing or even music. But what I can't do is read in very quiet room with a ticking clock or dripping faucet. A bunch of noise, I can tune out. But not steady, small noise in an otherwise quiet room.
  9. What a lovely story! I hope to do something similar in a few years, I am completely smitten with Frenchies!
  10. Mine too. I get infections from just thinking about TeA.
  11. My DH definitely "expects" TeA on certain occasions. Basically, every waking moment, LOL! But, yes, on anniversaries and birthdays and such, it is hoped for.
  12. My first was born at 39 weeks, second at 35, and third at 37. My second pregnancy was definitely the easiest until he decided to come too early. And my third was by far the worst.
  13. My favorite way to use up ham is something my mom called "one-pan skillet". Totally weird name but stick with me, LOL. Dice up a potato or two and sauté with some butter, salt and pepper. I usually add a dash of garlic and onion powder. Once the potatoes are cooked, add diced ham and cook until warm. Add a few scrambled eggs and cook to you liking. Top with shredded cheddar. Very simple and so yummy and comforting.
  14. I love the cookie recipe you are talking about, and I totally think it would work as a cake!
  15. Yes! That one in the basement was horrible. I was stunned.
  16. This October is DH and my 10 year anniversary and we are trying to plan a trip. I am thinking Alabama Gulf Shores as it is pretty close to us (Texas) and it looks beautiful! Anybody have any tips or favorites in the area? Good places to stay and things to see? Also, if you flew, did you fly into Mobile or Pensacola? Thanks!
  17. That sounds unpleasant. I think a friend of mine's mom has that, or something similar. Seems like I remember her telling me can't eat acidic foods or something. Maybe it's totally different.
  18. I know!! I'm on immunosuppressants unfortunately. This is the third one in three months. :/
  19. This the main reason I call my GYN, they just have me pop in the lab whenever I can. The problem is that they like to grow a culture to be sure they are giving me the correct antibiotics and that takes 1-2 days. I woke up in the middle of the night Tuesday/Wednesday in a crazy amount of pain. Went into the lab and gave a sample Wednesday at noon and didn't get my prescription until this morning. And now I think the infection has moved up into my kidneys. Ugh. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in soon.
  20. Hmm! Well this is good to know! I'll quit bugging my GYN office about this LOL! Thanks for the input. :)
  21. I should clarify a wee bit. I call my OB/GYN's office and speak to the nurse. Then she has me just go to the lab and give a sample. Then she call in a prescription for me. So I don't actually have to go in for an office visit.
  22. If you have a urinary tract infection? OB/GYN or general practitioner? I always call my OB/GYN because I figure it is sort of a female problem, plus it's in the pelvic area. My Dr has always been good about treating me and has never said anything. Well, my step-mom uses the same OB/GYN and she was telling me that they have gotten on to her about calling them. The Dr told her that she need to call her general practitioner instead. Who would you call and why?
  23. Sophie the Giraffe is the best baby toy I had. All three of my babies loved it. And it's small and light-weight. http://www.amazon.com/Vulli-Sophie-Giraffe-Teether-Brown/dp/B000IDSLOG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422310739&sr=8-1&keywords=sophie+the+giraffe I plan to include one in every baby shower gift I give.
  24. When I was a teen, we had a cat named Fido.
