Yep, some of my older relatives received a call just like that. Scammy McScammersons at work.

That is so weird! I googled it, and Corraleno posted about the same problem back in June.

Yes, as a theologically conservative Christian I believe obedience is an important virtue. I believe children should obey their parents, unless their parents ask them to violate their conscience or Scripture: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." Ephesians 6:1 "Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord." Colossians 3:20 I also strive to obey my husband based on Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3. (I don't have the time or inclination for debate about this today. ;) ) I believe Christians must obey Christ: "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." John 14:15 "...Having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation..." Hebrews 5:9 Obeying God may mean disobeying civil authorities: "But Peter and the apostles answered, 'We must obey God rather than men.'" Acts 5:29 "But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live." Exodus 1:17 I could have avoided the majority of grief in my life if I had placed a higher priority on simple obedience.

I sometimes see it in ktgrok's posts, and I've wondered, too! Katie, please chime in! :)

Praying with you for the same thing! Thanks for the update!

Oh, wow, Jan. Many :grouphug: and prayers. "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Congratulations on becoming a grandmother!!! p.s. Please let us know how the MRI goes.

So awesome! At my house that type of mysterious activity is known to be the work of "The Magic Fairy." :)

I always buy it online. I checked the current price at my three favorite online stores for supplements. iHerb is more expensive than Amazon right now. Vitacost's price is about the same, but they also have a coupon for 20% off immunity supplements (the code is IMMUNE20). Vitacost has free shipping on orders over $49. Of course, if you need it now and can find it locally, I'd go for it and then buy some online later to have on hand.

When I feel a cold coming on, elderberry syrup often seems to quickly take care of it. We usually buy Nature's Way Sambucus Immune formula. Hope you feel better soon!

Collections are fun. Let it go.

I really admire you for that, Jan. I think they just need part of the brain stem and part of the cerebellum, and it seems unlikely those would be destroyed by a whack. You've slowed decomposing of the brain by putting the bat in the fridge, and that's really all you can do. Praying that there will not be an issue. :grouphug:

Instead of griping, let's sing the praises of some products

L.L. Bean did the same thing when my father's backpack needed a repair. I love companies with lifetime guarantees! -
I stand corrected. I searched for humane ways to euthanize bats who need testing and found this: Humane Euthanasia of Bats for Public Health Rabies Testing. It looks like the only acceptable euthanasia methods should be done by professionals. They recommend keeping the bat in a container with air holes until it can be collected. Putting the container in a cooler with ice can slow the bat's activity. Poor little guy, and poor JanOH and her DH.

Is the bat dead? Are you sure? I'm hoping that your husband whacked it against something and didn't just let it suffocate to death. :( Please let us know what you find out. Hoping the bat didn't have rabies.

I'm so tempted by Demeter fragrances. Has anyone tried them? I'm thinking about Honeysuckle, Sunshine, Jasmine, or Suntan Lotion. Laundromat and Holy Smoke sound strangely appealing as well. In their "Back to School" collection, they include Paperback and Crayon scents.

Couple Married 62 Years Forced to Live Apart- Not right!
MercyA replied to TranquilMind's topic in The Chat Board
No, no, no. That is just awful. :( Hoping and praying this will be quickly remedied. -
Aww, what a jerk. Try not to let him get to you. It's not worth your energy. I think simple and honest is best. "This is really awkward, but to be honest, our daughter wasn't comfortable at your house the last time she spent the night. Apparently there was some debate about our family's dietary restrictions. It would be easier for DD if your child came to our house instead." Repeat, "Sorry, she's just not comfortable" if necessary. And I think your family's dietary choices rock. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sign me up, too. WTM picnic on the beach, anyone?

I have always been strongly opposed to the invasion of Iraq and feel perfectly comfortable criticizing the responses of both the U.S. and France. :) The state should strive to be just, always. It's not just to outlaw burkinis. It's not just to kill innocent people. Obviously one is much worse than than the other, but they are both wrong.

Never mind--too late for posting! :)

Love that top!!! Enjoy yourself and enjoy being comfortable!
