  1. Both my children will but only to Daddy. Because as they have said his back hurts all the time and we want to go fishing. Lol so I do not get them but when my husband is home he does.

  3. lol my boys are doing the same curriculum. I personally don't think it is necessary to that high of a number. Have you ever in your life needed them that high? I don't think I have. I have found that I will let my boys do what I think is sufficient and leave it at that. When they run into it on the test they will do what they know and I don't count them off for things I didn't find necessary. And for the public schools I don't think they cover that much of roman numerals definitely not into the 5000's. Good Luck
  4. I am going to listen in on this one I am also looking for suggestions.:bigear:
  5. So glad I am not alone. Schooling 7 days a week doesn't cure it btw. I school 7 days a week when my husband is up working in Alaska. Then I don't have to fret about whether we slack off when he is home. But it doesn't cure the Monday morning fuss. I actually got out of bed this morning hoping the rest of my day would go better than my before I got out of bed day. It didn't :tongue_smilie:.Good Luck.
  6. Pinterest is a great site for ideas. My children 6.5 and 8 also love playing in the rain. They wait for it to rain hard and the water to be gushing in the street gutters and get their sleds out and ride the water down. They also sail boats and other toys in the water. But if you would rather them be inside you could: -Have them make their own glow sticks using mountain dew baking soda and peroxide. -Make it a movie day rent movies make treats put blankets and pillows on floor and enjoy. -Indoor obstacle course or if they are like my boys and obsessed with army you could do an indoor boot camp or outdoor in the rain. -Make a fort out of blankets and dining room table. -Get a big box from an appliance store and let them make it into whatever they want (space ship, fort, car........)and decorate it. -Get cheap pool noodles cut them length wise in half and use them to have marble races. -Art projects -teach them how to make friendship braclets. -Let them help you bake cookies. -Draw on windows with dry erase markers. -make a target and shoot marshmallows at it. And here's what you need to do to make marshmallow shooter: 1. Cut the bottom part off of your plastic cup. I found it worked best to double up the cups and I cut off the bottom third. See how there's two cups nestled together? 2. Tie a knot at the end of your balloon and cut off about 1/2" from the other end. 3. Now stretch the balloon over the end of the cup. I found it worked best to put the balloon on the top part of the cup where the lip is, otherwise the cup would bend too much when I put the balloon on. Perhaps if you have a sturdier cup, you wouldn't need to use two cups together and you could put the balloon on the cut end (like in the original), but our way worked really well for us. (UPDATE: A commenter said she used a empty yogurt container and it worked well ~ good idea since some brands tend to be pretty sturdy, plus you're recycling!) That's it! Now it's time to do some launching! Just put your marshmallow inside the cup on the knotted center, then aim the cup away from you, pull back on the outer knot and launch away! - Treasure Hunt. -Build rockets. Hope at least one of those helps good luck.:lurk5:
  7. If it was made out to you and someone else cashed it and they used a different name than the one on the money order the sender can file a dispute with whatever institute cashed it. That institute is responsible for replacing that money. I am guessing that if they did sign your name they can still investigate it to determine it wasn't you. Good Luck
  8. TONS!!! So many that I lost count. But then one day as I was taking my sisters kids to school I passed by this house I passed it every morning and was in love with and it occurred to me that we hadn't looked at it. So hubby set up the appointment and 9 years later I still LOVE my house.
  9. I have a messy writer and a neat writer. And I get annoyed with the messy one. So at our house if I can't read it then it is wrong and you have to do it again. You can't do anything until it is done so I can read it. You could try seeing if she would like to give her work to someone but she can only do it if it is nice writing. Or she could earn points to redeem something for so many neatly written assignments.
  10. :bigear: my 10 year is in August I am going to eavesdrop here for good ideas. Wish I could contribute to the ideas.
  11. my boys when they were little couldn't keep the grandmas straight so we call one: Grandma Close (she lives a couple blocks away) and one Grandma Faraway. Not sure why they had issues remembering which was which lol.
  12. I live in Cortez :001_smile:.When are you going? Notah Dineh is a native american store here but downstairs they have a mini museum (it is free). There is also the Anasazi Heritage Center and Crow Canyon Archaeological Center. If you are wanting a hike Sand Canyon is a good one. Telluride is also a good town to stop by it has gondolas to ride and some neat parks and hiking, on the way up is Trout lake which hidden in the mountains behind trout lake is Hope lake which is a good hike. In Durango they have a paintball zip line (never been there though) I would also suggest the alpine slide (my kids almost 7 and 8 LOVE this and so do us big kids in the family) it is at the ski resort it is a huge slide they also have a rock climbing wall and some other things to do there. Honeyville is out that direction too they have a plexiglass bee hive where you can see the bees at work and if you go during certain hours you can see them bottle the honey. Along the road that direction is a hot spring also free. I also believe Cascade Creek is out that way BEAUTIFUL great hiking opportunity. They have a kids science museum in Durango and the Silverton train. Hope that helps. Good Luck.
  13. :grouphug: Awe, I am sorry for your struggles. I breastfed both of my boys my oldest until he was 17 months ( he got the boot 2 weeks before my 2nd was born) and my other until 22 months. They both fed on demand, and they ate ALL the time. I found that worked best for us if they wanted it they got it. They sell a tea for nursing mums to help with milk supply. Good luck!
  14. I have a shark which I like. That being said there are some steam mops that don't kill the germs unless you hold them on every spot for 15 seconds so be careful when choosing so you don't end up thinking that you are killing all the germs when in fact you aren't. Good Luck
  15. I have not tried this one although I plan on using it this year with my boys. Cantering the Country(U.S. geography) they also have Galloping the Globe. I have heard good things about both of them. You can find it on Amazon or on this website under specials with all the books you would need for it http://www.home-school-curriculum.com/learning_series/ Good Luck in your search.

  17. :D heehee I have been locking the doors which isn't something I normally do. My oldest noticed today and it freaked him out a bit. I am on my way to the library to see if they have the book and to buy a curtain for my front door so I can hide until I am done reading it. :001_smile:
