  1. I have received my order of Algebra I: A Fresh Approach. I like the looks of it and think it will work well with my dd. I didn't realize it would be hardcover. I thought it was a worktext and the student wrote in the book. The pages look like the student should write in them. So, do you let your student write in the book? Also, how much did you schedule for your student to do each day? Thanks.
  2. I bought one of these at our homeschool conference in June. I bought it for my 9 yo ds whose name is Nathan! He put it together and loves it.
  3. are there any lawyers that I can pm a couple of general questions about a living trust? Thanks.
  4. :grouphug:will definitely be praying for this family. Many years ago, a homeschooling family we were close to lost their 13 yo dd. She had not been ill at all, just didn't wake up one morning. Her younger brother found her. They did an autopsy and it showed nothing. There was no explanation at all. It was so sad. The mom died about 8 years later to breast cancer.
  5. I help organize a fairly big used curriculum sale held every year at the beginning of June. We have about 75 tables set up. I did not see the price increase you all are talking about. I have seen it here on the boards, but for the most part most sellers would price their curriculum that was in good condition for around 50% of the retail price. I got a good deal on Rainbow Science. I got the whole set for $20. All I need to buy is a lab workbook and the consumable lab set. This will cost me $73. I thought that was pretty good.
  6. Do you feel it covered the same material as most Algebra courses?
  7. can anyone tell me anything about this program. What kind of student with this be good for? Any info appreciated.
  8. I'm Teresa and live in Missouri. I have 10 dc and have graduated six of them. I have two married dd and two adorable granddaughters. I have been around since the old board.
  9. I got a Rainbow Science set, it includes everything but the usable lab components, for $20. I saw that the book contains a red section, blue section, and yellow section. Can you do these sections in any order or do they build on one another. I would like to just do the chemistry section and combine it with the free ACS course. Then I would do the other two sections the following year. Is this possible?
  10. my dh fell off the roof last week and broke his heel bone in two places. He will be having surgery tomorrow. He has been in considerable pain this week. From what the doctor said he cannot put any weight on his foot for 7 weeks. Does anyone know what to expect after that or what kind of pain to expect after the surgery? Thanks.
  11. watermelon, can't stand the texture, taste isn't so bad, but I cannot stand the texture. Every time we have a watermelon, my whole family keeps trying to get me to eat it. That it's the best one they have every had and there's no way I will not like it.
  12. I would love the free online resources that you have. :001_smile:
  13. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Does the 2.0 version bring it up to Lials?

  18. I need brunch ideas for Saturday morning. It probably will be more like a late breakfast. This is what I have planned. Bacon breakfast casserole Sausage breakfast casserole or French toast casserole with sausage patties on the side Fruit salad Strawberry cream cheese bread Orange pecan bread Cinnamon breakfast cake Anything missing?
  19. My dh's aunt is getting married next month. She has been a widow for about 12 years. My dh was ring bearer at her first wedding many many years ago! She has always been a special aunt to him. She is very well of and wants for nothing. I would like to get them something very special, but am coming up blank. Their interest are horses. She has a horse farm in Tennessee. In fact, many years ago her horse was the National Champion Tennessee Walking Horse. So, any ideas from more creative minds than mine. LOL
