  4. I am super excited. We start August 6th!!!! I am also super nervous. We are currently doing summer school, but we only do math, reading, sotw, and child led unit studies, so we will just have to fold in the rest of the subjects.
  5. My 9 year old is working through 5/4 and complained that it was the samething over and over and he knew all the stuff already, so for the first 20 or so lessons I picked about 10_15 problems to do and he does 2 lessons a day since he is still in the review stage, and when he gets to the point where he is learning new concepts he will go back to 1 lesson a day but I wi still not have him do every problem.
  6. These are great ideas, I will put these on:001_smile: my list.
  7. I am looking for some good poems and speeches for my 4th grader to memorize. Any suggestions? Thank you
  8. mom24cuties: I am a mom and I have 4 kids(cuties). I like to keep it simple.
  9. They are opening up a homeschool store next month that is about 30 min. from me, I can't wait to go check it out.
  10. I think they could have been a little more gentle with the wording, but i totally understand the message. Strangers were always trying to touch my kids when they were babies, and the first place they go to touch is their hands which all of my kids were/are finger or whole hand suckers. I have asked plenty of people not to touch my little ones, but not so rudely.
  11. Very nice blog, I am looking forward to more post.
  12. Wow all the choices are overwhelming. Good thing I have the summer to do more research. I will look into all of these, thanks for the suggestions.:)
  13. I need some recommendations for 2nd grade math for my daughter. I bought her saxon grade 2 math, but she doesn't like it, she says it is too easy, boring and it is the same thing everyday. She does it, but she whines and complains saying it's boring. I want something colorful and not to repetitive since she grasp concepts fairly easy. She loves math, she will do page after page until I tell her to move on to something else, and I don't want to ruin that by keeping her in something that she doesn't like. TIA
  14. Out of the 4 of my children I have one who is like that. I love him to pieces but sometimes he just gets on my last nerve.
  15. Our lite summer schedule is from 9am-12p. In that time we do math, reading, and alternate history and science. We use the afternoons for free time and to run errands.
  16. This looks fun, i am going to add it to my list of science experiments for the summer. Thanks!!!
  17. :iagree: I second Intellego Astronomy.
  18. This is great!!!! I will be using this for some of our studies this comming year.
  19. Thank you for all your input. I will be looking into these.
  20. My system is similiar to pw23kids. Each of my kids will have a crate that will hold their workboooks, binders, and school supplies. Then I will have my teachers binder that has lesson plans, schedules, and all my other teacher stuff I need, and all my school supplies. For our books we have two built in bookshelf's in the dining room where we will be doing our school work, and since we will be going to the library for most of our books I have a tub for each child to stow their books in on the shelf.
