  1. Yes, we are using this combination as well. We aren't using the dictation in WWE as we do dictation in another curriculum. So that puts us doing WWE 2 days a week, with WWW being done everyday. I am also planning to throw in a picture prompt writing page once a week. I don't think it will be too much as the lessons in WWW are pretty short. I'll see after we get started in a few weeks. :001_smile:
  2. Bible: Train Up a Child Series & Sword Fighting Math: CLE 300 & extra word problems LA: LOE, WWW 3, WWE 2, Picture Prompt writing, CLE Reading, cursive handwriting History: American History (American Revolution - Civil War) lots of books and fun hands-on. Also taking FL history at co-op. Science: Apologia Zoo 1 Flying Creatures Logic: Mind Benders and more Geography: Which Way USA & Trail Guide
  3. This books looks really good. When I read the preview it mentioned something about the Teacher's Guide. Is there another book that goes with it?
  4. Thank you. I thought I remembered a post at one time where someone actually said they used another bible. Maybe I am imagining it as I can't seem to find it now.
  5. Thank you Jill! :001_smile: Has anyone else attempted this?
  6. Yes, my DD keeps talking more and more about college now. :crying: Ok, this makes me want to cry already. And I don't even want to think about this one yet.:svengo:
  7. Has anyone ever used this with a regular bible and not the Golden Children's Bible? My son loves to read straight from his NIrV Adventures bible. Would it be too hard to line up? I see in the Teacher's guide samples that some of the activity questions focus on the pictures in the Golden Children's Bible. Is it like this throughout the study? Also are the maps in the MP materials or in the Golden Children's Bible? ANd one last questions....MP has Christian Studies listed for 3-7 grades. Those that have done it with a 3td grader, was it a bit much? Do you wish you would have waited longer? Sorry for all of the questions so early this morning. TIA!!
  8. Wait til they start driving :auto: My baby is no longer a baby.
  9. DD used 10 booklets of the set all in one year for 9th grade. I am only giving it one credit. I think we will just list it as it's name..Integrated Physics and Chemistry.
  10. I use these in everything. Love them. I will be using them in my LOE manual as well. Can't wait to start!! I had planned on starting before now, but I needed some down time. We have done no school so far this summer at all.
  11. I bought ours at Walmart in the aisle with all the seasonings.
  12. I will be asking her at our next appt about the IQ testing. She did have me bring in tons of his work and examples of stuff he reads. They also administered the IVA (Integrated Visual and Auditory Performance) computerized test, which he bombed.
  13. No he has not had IQ testing? Where is the best direction to go for that? I am so new to all of this. I will ask about the evaluation by an SLP. I did find an audiologist through the University of Florida (about 45 minutes from us) that does APD testing. I really need to find the best route to take in all this as we are paying for all of this out of pocket.
  14. My son was recently diagnosed by a psych for ADD and Childhood Anxiety Disorder. I have also thought for a while now that we may have some AP issues going on. The psych agrees, but she of course can't test for that as she is not a NP. I am looking into getting him evaluated somewhere. There is only one NP in our area covered by DS's insurance and well, he doesn't get great reviews. (some suit even filed against him for fraud) I am going to look into our school system to see if that is an option. Why does it have to be so hard to get help!? :banghead: So... until I can get him evaluated, I would like to learn all I can. Do you have any great books/websites to recommend? DS does have an appt with her next week for play therapy for his CAD. I will ask her about books then, but I really wanted the opinion and recommendations of the hive. Those that have BTDT. :001_smile:
  15. Thank you! I have loved everything I have read so far. This one is definitely in my Amazon cart. :001_smile:
  16. Thank you for this post. I was able to pick these up yesterday!
  17. We will be using the book that Kleine Hexe linked in addition to this one that I picked up on a bargain table at Barnes and Noble. We also have several DK books on the specific wars. Most libraries carry them. They will have all of the weapons, vehicles etc used during each. When we study the civil war we will also be using this playset. These books are not on just weapons but a great fun addition to American History. My son is also enjoying watching the Liberty Kids DVDs on the American Revolution. Oh yeah..here is a thread I started a while back about some resources having to do with weapons, spies and military vehicles.
  18. Was it State History From a Christian Perspective?
  19. Anytime I seem to be going round and round about what to use/plan and I feel like my head is spinning, I take a break for a few days. I simply walk away from all planning and decisions. (and shhhh - even the boards :svengo:) I get a book (or 2 or 3) from the library. One that is easy to read, no thought involved, has a good story line, the kind a call "brain candy." I take extra time to play some games with the kids and just take it easy and think nothing about curriculum.
