How much time do you spend working on your blog?
Rhonda in WA replied to a topic in General Education Discussion Board
Set up took a while and the first two weeks I spent a lot of time on it. I was always checking to see if I had replies. Now I spend about 20 minutes a day or 30, if I post. -

I too finally took pictures of our school room
Rhonda in WA replied to Tess in the Burbs's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Love the room! Cool tramp-my girls would spend all day on that! -
Not sure who you are talking about, but I was at Target and they have different sizes. I think mine are just the standard size.

We just switched to total Math-u-see and I was given an Abeka math book and dd loves it. Color is good. FLL 3 is a wonderful hit this year. WWE-but we are on our first week. I think we will love it. Prima Latina-we also just started this. SOTW We just started schooling again this week. These are what we like so far.

Alternative board self?
Rhonda in WA replied to Trivium Academy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I am way more talkative in real life. Sometimes I don't know when to shut my mouth. Bad habit of mine. But here I just read a lot about what you wonderful women are chatting about and only pipe in when I feel I have something good to say. I learn so much from these boards. Thanks ladies. -
My dd got to go to work with dad today!
Rhonda in WA replied to Rhonda in WA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Yep she had a wonderful day with dad. He is a helicopter test pilot but had no flights today. He usually gets to take her to work about once a month. She can't wait to do it again. -
I had decided to do it
Rhonda in WA replied to Mom2legomaniacs's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I say anything to help lessen the stress in ones life. I have been thinking of doing this same thing. My neighbor has a wonderful cleaner and I just got her number yesterday and I think I am going to do it also. I just have to be ok with the cost. That is what has stopped me in the past. But I need it now also. I think the time with my kids is better than cleaning. -
She was so happy and excited to go. I took pictures of them and posted about it on my blog today. It was so cute. She had a hard time getting out of bed. She even made dh a little late today. He still stopped at Starbucks for his coffee and got her a bagel and hot chocolate. She loves it. So we started school this week, but I still let her skip school and go to work with dad. She called to tell me that they paid her $35 for coming in today. Her day was 8 to 3. She is my working girl now. Here is my post http://www.3girlsandoneboy.blogspot.com/ So do you ever let your kiddos skip and see the working world?

I am going to be sick
Rhonda in WA replied to Quiver0f10's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I am with you on no one using my cup. We all have our own cups for the day. That way we have only 4 to wash at night. But if I even think someone has used anyone else's cup we get a new one. Germs are nasty! Even my kids germs. Oh and back wash. Yuck! -
What have you already changed this year????
Rhonda in WA replied to HollyDay's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
math. We are keeping math-u-see and getting rid of Singapore. We got an Abeka math book given to us and dd loves the color. So we do our normal MUS and now she is adding in a page of Abeka and loving it. We will see how it goes. -

Can we discuss a few points in our schedules?
Rhonda in WA replied to Jane's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
1) How much time do you allow for your morning routine before you officially begin school? Why have you established that much/little time? Do your children shower in the mornings? Have bible study? What kind of morning chores? Etc. We wake up at around 7:30. My girls shower the night before so they make bed and brush teeth. We have till 8 to do chores and all that. Usually at 8:15 we start to eat. Then we try to have it all done and start Bible at 8:45 or so. Chores are: bed, room, hair, teeth, and dressed. You can see their chore boards my dh made on my blog. Here http://3girlsandoneboy.blogspot.com/2008/07/our-chore-chart.html 2) How much time do you allow for lunch break? Usually about an hour. 3) At what time does your school day officially begin and officially end; this should include ages of children because it differs from grade to grade. We begin at about 8:45 to 9. We end about 2pm. Dd 8 and dd4 start at the same time, but dd4 is done in 1 hour. Dd 8 is done about 2. 4) How many activities per week are in your schedule during school hours (ie: co-op, special foreign language class, etc.). Co-op on Mondays and gymnastics is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5:30 to 8:30. 5) Do you schedule 4 or 5 day weeks? For those w/4 day schedules how do you complete all the math and grammar lessons in a year? (I realize programs differ, so maybe a mention of that is helpful. For example, Horizons Math has a full 180 lessons.) We do 4 days for everything except math. We try to do it everyday. Sometimes we don't. -
I can't wait for Chuck! I love that show. Also Heroes and Lost-not sure when Lost will start.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words and prayer. We are all doing ok. I took dd 4 yr in to the doctors and her neck was good. They said it could have been side wipe lash. But the best thing is at this young age they get over it quick. It has been a week and she is running, playing and doing all her normal things. Just wanted to let everyone know. Thanks again. And WOOHOO I finally made it to 100. hehe.

Is anyone else staying up for the Olympics?
Rhonda in WA replied to coffeefreak's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I have been staying up everynight and DVRing it. My husband is starting to fall asleep on the coach so I can watch it and be with him. He is so sweet. He tries to stay up to. I am loving watching the swimming! -
Oh I definitely sure will! We have been in 3 accidents within a year. Our first one was June 07, then 3 weeks later July 2nd, 07 now this one. My girls are scared to get in the car. To tell you the truth I am too! I am just so shaky right now. We are now cuddled on the coach and watching a movie. Trying to think of better things.
