  1. I've been commissioned to make a "life size" guitar cake and 150 mini-cupcakes for a sweet sixteen party. The guitar is covered in homemade (yummy) fondant. As for how long all this has taken, I don't know...just know it has taken a LONG time over the course of the last few days. I do know that ingredients/cake board/etc alone totals about $50. This is a huge extravagant Sweet 16 party and they are sparing no expense. I don't want to charge more than what it is worth, but I don't want to get short-changed, either. TIA! 2. Same thing happened to us over Christmas. Got to the middle of the book and some of the pages (of black and white illustrations - Storytime with the Millers) were colored in with crayon! We were reading it together for the first time and both made this face  when we saw it. DS didn't mind, so I didn't do anything about it. Melissa in St Louis
  3. By curvy, I mean very well endowed on top. :tongue_smilie: I would be wearing the Spanx tummy/waist-sucker under it. I am going to try to get out and try it on in-store later. I am too chicken to order it online! :D What shoes? Knee-high boots? Melissa in St Louis
  4. Do we like this? For DH's birthday party? I just cut a FOOT of hair off, and I need to look good! Body type: VERY curvy. :tongue_smilie: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/clearance/womens1/coordinates/PRD~389305/Simply+Vera+Vera+Wang+Pleated+Dress.jsp Melissa in St Louis

  6. In MO, you only need to produce records IF ASKED (but to me, that means I better keep them, KWIM?), and I guess I like to be able to add it all up and look like we've actually accomplished something. :D I had never thought of counting trips to the library, but I did wonder about the "help" they do for the family business (at this point that consists of picking out and putting up decorations for various holidays). :D Thanks so much! Melissa in St Louis
  7. I feel like maybe I'm not keeping track of all the "hours" that are happeneing in my home. I have been dutifully counting hours of lessons from my lesson plans, but maybe I should be counting other things too? For example, if we were scheduled to watch a Magic School Bus episode because it went with our science topic, I would log that since it is what I had planned that day for science.....BUT, if the kiddos chose to watch Magic School Bus on their own, (which happens often) I haven't been writing that down. Should I be? DS is also a voracious reader and reads for hours a day and I haven't been logging that. Again, should I be? Just wondering. I want to be honest, I'm not trying to fugde anything that isn't happeneing. I just want to count what I am supposed to. :D TIA! Melissa in St Louis
  8. I'm needing to eat some salads and I'm looking for a yummy/healthy vinagrette to make or purchase. Cheap would be good!:D TIA! Melissa in St Louis
  9. Praying for you and ds. :grouphug: It is so hard when they aren't 100%. Melissa in St Louis

  11. Hope this helps! Here it is!:D Thank you for contacting Answers in Genesis. We are indeed publishing a revised, update version of the God’s Design series. This should be available in March 2009. There are many changes, some of which include: · Full-color student manual · More photos and illustrations added to text · Beginner section for younger readers · Challenge section for older students · Answers removed from Student Manual · Separate Teacher Supplement with all answers to book questions, quizzes, and worksheets · 7 C’s of History integration with color icons in lessons that relate to the 7 C’s The content is basically the same, except for the additional challenge section in each lesson, and the full-color illustrations and photos. Instead of the answers being in the books, however, they are now in a Teacher Supplement. We will also have a resource CD-Rom available that includes all of the student worksheets and quizzes so you can print them out, or you can purchase printed copies separately. The only difficulty that you may find is that, since well over 90% of our sales of God’s Design Science are for the complete 3-book series, we decided to combine the answers for all the Life books (Plants, Animals, Human Body) into one Teacher Supplement. Also, the printed version of the student worksheets and quizzes includes those for the entire Life series as well. So, you’d have some extra material.
  12. Chelle, it went more smoothly than I would have ever thought!!!:D It was definately PACKED, but somehow not OVERpacked and apparently everyone had a blast! YAY! The new location near you is off to a great start! Whew! So glad to get back to somewhat normal. :001_smile: Melissa in St Louis
  13. Great list! I totally agree! :001_smile: Melissa in St Louis
  14. I survived New Year's Eve -- and I did it without a turtleneck and vest!:D Thanks to you ladies, I ended up getting a gorgeous black -v-neck-fitted (but not busting out of) button down shirt to wear with my black pants. I also went WAYYYYYYY out on the limb and bought a very pretty teal bead necklace (several strands) that fit in the v of the shirt. I was very comfortable and felt great and pulled together! Thank you so much! OOOH! I got the shirt and necklace 40% off! I am going to go back to JcPenney in a few days and pick up a few more of those same shirts (I can't believe I found some that fit!!!!!) for church, etc. YAY!!!! I DID try on the vest.....bad, very, very, very bad. What was I thinking? Thanks again! Melissa in St Louis
  15. Yeah, I feel like we should start school on Monday, but I really wanted to get the house clean (CLEAN clean, KWIM?) before we started. Also, we are waiting on a few books to get here for our new semester. Plus, we are all a bit under the weather......SO, want to start - yes! Could we start - probably! Will we start monday - :001_huh: I dunno. Melissa in St Louis
  16. In the past we had the magnetic tangram-a-day calendar and loved it! I just read about a Mad Lib-A-Day calendar and that sounds fun too! What else have you/your children enjoyed? Melissa in St Louis
  17. Well, I didn't make it to Kohls today as I was too busy getting decorations up for the parties...2 nightclubs...both overbooked...300-400 people with more likely to end up at the door wanting a ticket..we HAD to get the balloon drops up and the decor looking great! Hopefully tomorrow after my little cuties go to Camp Grandma for the night, I will be able to pull it together! I already have the spanxx undergarment - love it! I am torn about the shirt, I agree that the buttons might pull since they usually do. I am just going to drop the kiddos off early and go try on stuff. At least now I have a plan!!:D I am most excited because DH and I will at least get to see each other for a bit tomorrow. With the 2nd club opening a week ago, and all of the holiday parties at the 1st club, it's been nuts! Really, I just want to look great for him since he is the "big shot" there and everyone knows him. But no pressure. :tongue_smilie: Melissa in St Louis
  18. I don't buy a lot, either (could you tell? ha!), and I needed to be able to justify wearing it to church too. Yay! I even have a kohl's gift card to cover it! :D:auto: Melissa in St Louis ps --- now for the scarf or necklace.....
