  1. Thanks! I saw that thread, but there was one where someone said "I use the materials in my home, if you want, I can post how I do that" ....but I can't find it!!!! I REALLY wanna know!!!!! :D
  2. I read that someone was going to post on how they use the CC materials at home without going to the group....WHERE is this post??? I have searched n searched and can't find it! EEK! This is what happens when you take a break from the boards for the 4th!
  3. I am looking for a patriotic men's shirt for DH for the 4th. It needs to be red/white/blue/flag-ish, and button-up/collared with short sleeves....has anyone seen this????? I don't get out much so I don't really know what is out there. Thanks!!!!:D
  4. My rising 1st grader LOVES science, LOVES animals, and can't wait to start doing "science" as a subject in the fall...he is even wanting to get a a labcoat to make it official! :D Thing is, he already knows most of the material covered in the reccommended spines for the year. I was thinking of doing Easy Classical science, and I also looked at REAL Science 4 Kids and Christian Kids Explore Biology. I am stuck. I want him to continue to be excited about animals, be challenged but not frustrated, do some related experiments and learn something new....is that asking too much??? ;) ps - He is not a fan of bugs or worms if that helps. HA!

  6. I don't have the book...do we want to use the ones in the book or ones from a website or come up with our own ideas? Doesn't matter to me, I'm just excited others want to participate! :)
  7. I have seen on other boards about doing a preschool activities in a bag swap....any takers? I am assuming we would all make up a bunch of the same activity, then mail to someone (I could even do it) who would sort and remail out so each participant gets 1 of each activity. Make sense? Wanna try it?:D
  8. What are some nice (and inexpensive) coloring books for the Ancients? Or are there good free printables online?:bigear:
  9. We will be using Rod and Staff Health, Safety, and Manners for Grade 1 (it is listed as Grade 2, but will be fine for us). :001_smile:
  10. I would carry over the ceasar dressing to the salad. Pull the flavors together or something like that. ;)
  11. HA! The "dude" in question is a drummer that plays there once a month... it was his birthday when we filmed, and somehow he ended up shirtless.:001_huh:
  12. Yep, that is him singing and playing. He is the "fun" one of the family while I am the conservative Christian homeschool mom. ha!
  13. Ok, this is the promo video for my DH... we own a piano bar/nightclub where he plays piano. I'm not trying to advertise or anything, we are just thrilled at how well the video came out!!!!:D
  14. Here is a promo video for my hubby! We are excited! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=33707612
  15. Anyone have a magic cure?:tongue_smilie: I am not asking much, just clear your plate, pick up when you are through, etc. I have GREAT, AWESOME, SWEET kiddos....but they tend to be a bit lazy! For a while, we did the Accountable Kids system and that worked, but it was SO much work for ME to keep up with. Thoughts? My DH works VERY hard to provide for us, so I wait on him hand and foot -- great except the kiddos see me doing things for DH that I ask them to do for themselves. I am :bigear:!
  16. I am thinking of using it for 1st grade coming up.
  17. I asked for BP for mothers day! :D We are looking forward to using year 1 in the fall....if I purchase the ebook maps, will I need any other maps or will I be set? The coloring book looks neat, too! Can't wait!
  18. WOW. Thanks for the help so far! Great ideas, all of them! My kids would be SHOCKED to know that something goes on tacos besides meat and chicken!!!!
  19. Ok, I am cooking for 30 people for a Cinco de Mayo dinner. :) It is going to be buffet-style, and for part of the entree portion, I a going to set up a "build your own taco" bar with shells, meats, and fixins....what fixins should I put out? I have down tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, olives, salsa...but what else could I put out? We are pretty simple eaters in my family, so I don't know what other people might eat. :bigear: Thanks!
  20. WOW! I LOVE the Easy Classical site. So much great info! Thanks for the great site.....now I am re-thinking my history!:tongue_smilie:
  21. What do you like for this? I have read that CKEB is boring....is it?:bigear:
  22. I think I am going to use the Paula's Archives bit with MOH and SOTW combined. I wanted to just use one program, but I think that merging the two will be perfect. :D
  23. I know my child, and I know he will be asking "well, mom, if all of history is supposed to be in this book, then were are Adam and Eve?" type stuff. I don't want him to get the impression that I'm just "making it all up" KWIM? I guess I'm being oversensitive to it, I just want to find the best solution. (Don't we all!!!!:tongue_smilie:)
