  1. I'd say 6 or seven is a good age for a BB gun.. He can definitely start on Nerf and cap guns right away though! Lol
  2. Yes, how could I forgot about Nerf guns! Nerf is by far the most popular activity in our house and neighborhood! My daughter loves it too.
  3. I wish I lived near you because my kids would love to play with your boys! They are not quite as creative (hmm, they are creative but maybe I'm thinking talented?) but at the end of the day they have accumulated quite a mess out of paper, glue, tape, clay, and legos!
  4. then get him a BB gun ;) Boys of all ages will appear with their guns to shoot at his targets. Who knew target shooting was a social activity?
  5. no, I can't say that's ever happened here! PS: I'm back :D Call me or pm me!
  6. I have 31 pages (762 items) in my wish list and in my shopping cart, I have 105 items in the "saved items -- to buy later"
  7. I have overheard my son tell people he only does a couple of minutes of school a day. :001_huh:
  8. Ok, that makes sense. I would like to lose 72 more pounds, so I have a while before I need to track. :) I need to stop being obsessive about weighing myself. :001_huh: But... it is so nice to see the scale going DOWN! :w00t:
  9. I've been hoping for a long time now that someone was going to ask! (I'm too shy to ask myself, LOL )
  10. My dh is considering law school because his company will pay 100% :w00t: but we're a little put off by the notion that legal work can and is able to be outsourced. Not all attorneys obviously, but it's hard to go into a field that is shrinking.
  11. FWIW, about law school... this is an interesting article from the NYT, January 8th 2011. Worth a read.
  12. Thanks Ellie and Lovedtodeath! I'm glad it is working for you both. :grouphug: I'm so psyched, this is the best diet I've ever been on.
  13. Because I've been browsing the Atkins Forums and those people are serious about measurements and portions and tracking. I'm spooked. :D If anyone doesn't measure/track, I don't think they'd ever admit it for fear of being shunned and berated.
  14. Oh, congratulations to your dh and to you both for your new little blessing!
  15. I have been tracking every morsel for the past 3 weeks and 2 days and I'm getting sick of it. :glare: Someone told me it is very important but is it really? One thing I'm doing is measuring my food. So in the morning I take a 1 cup measure and put peppers, onions, squash, mushrooms etc. until it fills the cup. Then I cook it for my omelette. I have been weighing my protein too. I'm not sure how much I should eat though, is a 6 oz portion of fish too much, should I go back to 4 oz? I measure my cream for my coffee. So do I really have to keep track of each item?? BTW, I've lost 14 pounds!!!
  16. proud to be ultra liberal!!... and Catholic! LOL and
  17. I would go to the Poconos or Princeton area. I emailed for my location: Vernon, NJ, 200 capacity venue, Mountain Creek resort nearby. Hudson County HS'rs, Sussex County Christian HS'ers, Orange County HS'ers nearby. Plus Justamouse and Testimony nearby :D
  18. Thanks for the link! I ended up having strawberries and blueberries with unsweetened whipped cream and a sprinkle of unsweetened cocoa powder... it was awesome!! (Cake looked so good though; red velvet layered with chocolate frosting and decorated with mini peanut butter cups)
  19. Good Calories, Bad Calories is quite dry, lol :D I'm on the waiting list at the library for that. BTW, how much it would set me back if I have a piece of cake for my ds bday tonight? I'm joking! (kind of)
  20. Thanks, from what I've seen and heard, I think this is the most doable plan for me. I need to get the book again from the library. :)
  21. My plan, which is subject to change :tongue_smilie:, is to lose weigh while eating meat, dairy, and fat with veggies at every meal and fruit sparingly until but NO other carbs until I lose weight and even then, I hope to just add some more fruit, a few potatoes every now and then and some dark chocolate. Then I'll get my cholesterol and other numbers from blood work at my check up. MY #1 goal is to lose weight. It is not healthy being so overweight. Once I'm at my goal weight, I'd like to see if going dairy free has an effect on the way I feel. I also like to have a bit of soy in gf soy and miso but would be willing to completely give up soy if there was some compelling evidence to NEVER have soy.
