  1. AcademicEarth.org takes the free video lectures available on line and organizes them by school, subject and ratings. Saves a little search/browsing time! Universities: Berkeley Columbia Harvard Khan Academy Maryland Michigan MIT Norwich NYU Princeton Stanford UCLA UNSW USC Yale
  2. If I had to, I would put the kids in school and get a job. I love homeschooling and can see the benefits but I'm sure my kids would be just fine in our decent but not amazing local public school. That being said, we do sacrifice a second income (like everyone else here!) and that money would certainly be welcome and downright helpful, but I homeschool since we can manage without the extra income. If we stopped "managing" then I wouldn't hesitate to sign 'em up!
  3. Thank you. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Thanks for starting this thread... you know for people who feel this way. ;) ,
  4. Oh well Carol, all you can do is ask, right? She refused but let's not let that ruin the CELEBRATION!!:party::party:
  5. Yes. Quite serious. It started before that, but in any case some of what followed that I might consider baiting. Like telling him he is having a "pansy party" or a his "panties are in a bunch". :001_huh:
  6. I'm beginning to think some people here are baiting Spy Car. :glare:
  7. Yes, and soon (to the ice cream not to being insane :D )
  8. This is why I want Elaine to be the voice of reason ON MY SIDE. :sneaky2: Bruce is on my side, come on Elaine... go Liberal! :D:D:D:D
  9. It's been too long Elaine! :w00t: 2012 is right around the corner. ;):D:D:D
  10. But if you give the military 100% of the credit that leaves no credit to the intelligence officers, the Pakistani co-operation, the president or any other security force that may have deserved credit. I give the US Military credit too... maybe even the majority of the credit but I'm pretty sure they didn't act alone.
  11. why wouldn't he, what am I missing?
  12. 17. Circumcision? I won't rest until I have all your opinions on this!
  13. My 6 year old couldn't do it. She is doing really well with phonics, but is far from a fluent reader.
  14. My 2 kids were also charming ,well-behaved toddlers and I would get comments almost everywhere we went. I don't think it was any wonderful parenting but they were just so... good. And endearing. I don't get those comments much anymore because, I'm guessing (most likely) either my kids don't deserve it :sneaky2: or because most kids know how to behave by the age of 8. :)
  15. Lady Josephine Snoopy-Smith My kids: Lady Doreen Cheetah-Ridge Lord Frank Runner-Ridge My DH: Lord Wilbur Bonnie-Prospect
  16. Davis and Elkins college in West Virginia is beautiful, small, Christian and offers a 4 year nursing degree. I would definitely recommend checking it out!
  17. Edited, because I'm an idiot. Happyhomemaker25, I have no idea what it is like to raise a RAD child, and I think you are amazing with how far you've gotten with your child and I hope you get the advice you need here from people who have actual experience with RAD. :grouphug:
  18. When my kid had a birthday party, I ate a bowl of strawberries and blueberries with whipped cream (lightly sweetened with equal) and a sprinkle of cocoa powder. It was soooo good, that I felt sorry for the people eating the cake! :tongue_smilie: :w00t:
