    We like the Great States games and Geopuzzles.

    We use Biblioplan. I peek over the fence every now and then, but always make the decision to stick with BP. :)

    We have used both and chose Essentials in Writing over Hake. Both are vey good, EIW was a better fit for us.

    We are using Adventures in America along with some of Guest Hollow. Dd loves History Pockets which are scheduled through Guest Hollow.

    We use and love Essentials in Writing (grades 2&6). I have not used IEW, but Essentials is working great for us and you can't beat the price!

    We don't use the companion, just the guide and the maps. Dd writes summaries of what she reads each week. It's plenty and has worked out great for us. We have the companion for year 1, and dd hated it, so we ended up shelving it. When I saw the price on the revised year 2 companion, I just decided to pass on it - too expensive.

    We take short study breaks throughout the day to take walks or play Wii sports games, but I have never had to cut back on reading time.
