  1. Nano drone was a hit...so was the Kindle Fire that was a Black Friday deal! :hurray:
  2. That is not true and misrepresents the facts of the case.
  3. It's good to get checked out. A few years ago after my dc had Fifths Disease, I got it. The main symptom for me was swollen, painful joints. I also felt very run down. When I researched it, I learned that it is a very common symptom for adults who get this illness. Is it possible you have been exposed to this? Hopefully you'll get some good info. soon!
  4. Sorry she is going through this…It's never fun to see our dc in pain. My son was just diagnosed with Sever's and Achilles tendonitis. The podiatrist put him in a boot to force his foot to completely rest. He can't take Ibuprofen, and we haven't been able to get the pain to subside. For him, ice seemed to make the pain worse and the heel cups did nothing to bring relief. The key seems to be rest for the affected area which is difficult for a foot since you need to walk :001_smile: Hopefully, some of these remedies will work for your dd. If not, I'd get her checked out.
  5. "The Lion opened his mouth, but no sound came from it; he was breathing out, a long, warm breath; it seemed to sway all the beasts as the wind sways a line of trees. Far overhead from beyond the veil of blue sky which hid them the stars sang again; a pure, cold, difficult music. Then there came a swift flash like fire (but it burnt nobody) either from the sky or from the Lion itself, and every drop of blood tingled in the children's bodies, and the deepest, wildest voice they had ever heard was saying: 'Narnia, Narnia, Narnia, awake. Love. Think. Speak. Be walking trees. Be talking beasts. Be divine waters.'" -The Magician's Nephew C.S. Lewis Your dear one is home. May you find great peace in the days ahead.
  6. As one who adores her father, I am so, so sorry for your pain and loss.
  7. I'm mostly just a reader here...but wanted to also say how very, very sorry I am for your loss and pain.
  8. I don't post here as often...more of a lurker (learner:)). But your post made me so very sad. I am so sorry you are going though this. I sure hope you have some real life support to be there with you.:grouphug:
  9. Add me to those who are very THANKFUL!!!!! :001_smile:
  10. Thank you, ladies, for offering such personal wisdom. If we haven't faced such a loss yet, we will someday. Thank you for sharing your very personal grief and pain. May you find peace in this journey. :grouphug:
  11. Not sure how many kiddos you have, but some creative rearranging might help with the loss of a bedroom: Back in the dark ages (early 1970's) my parents had a small 3 bedroom house with 3dd and 1ds. I remember them putting the three of us girls in the master bedroom while they took one of the other rooms and my brother had the third. Looking back, I think, "Wow, that was pretty creative." Keep in mind, though, if you think your settling for less than what you want before you move in, it will only feel more like that after the fact. Deb
  12. Such a hard decision...we've been there. If things like this matter to you: When you stand at the kitchen sink, what will you be looking at? I wish I'd thought of this more when we chose our current home.
  13. When I taught middle school, I utilized Easy Grammar a lot... prepositions first just makes sense to me. Also, I really like Analytical Grammar/Junior AG for the younger ones. Rod and Staff is a favorite for a textbook approach. :)
  14. Hi, I'm new here but from one's who been through pre-term labor and bed rest, I'll say a prayer for you! and for the baby :)
