  1. Thanks! I was interested because they are both on sale right now, ONS for $45 and Hubble for $40.
  2. I'm planning on using Signs and Seasons this year with my kids (11th and 8th). The Teaching Company is having a sale on the courses Our Night Sky and Experiencing Hubble: Understanding the Greatest Images of the Universe. I was considering supplementing with either or both of these. Does anyone have any experience with either of these courses? Thanks
  3. We love Mr. Bean here, too. We have a set of his dvd's that have been watched many times. My kids will enjoy going through the videos on this link. Thanks!
  4. My posts usually show up immediately. I don't think I've ever seen a notice like that. It may be because it is your first post on that board, but I don't see why since you have so many more than 50 posts.
  5. Thanks Stacy. The lack of practice problems wouldn't work here, either. My daughter just informed me she doesn't want videos for math next go around, just a book. So, I'm off to research some more (this is for geometry).
  6. Has anyone had any experience with Tablet Class math? http://tabletclass.com/ Thanks
  7. Rhonda, I would like a copy also. I will send you a pm. Thanks so much for your offer. Sue
  8. Thank you, Ester Marie. My son is also interested in the Italian language, so your advice and links were helpful to me.
  9. Jean, would it be possible to get by with one textbook for 2 students if they will each have their own workbook?
  10. Thanks for the info. We never received the newsletter.
  11. Anyone else having problems with getting some odd test page when trying to visit the virtual homeschool group website? We've been having problems for a week. Is it just us? Thanks!
  12. Anyone else having problems accessing the VHSG website? My daughter needs to finish up the last module in Chemistry, but we keep getting some type of test page. This has been going on since Thursday. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just "us". Thanks!
  13. Eliana, In behalf of my dh and ds, I thank you for your post.
  14. Don't mean to hijack, but if you used the link above with the online interactive version of the textbook available for purchase, would you still need the Instructor's One Stop Planner?
  15. This brought tears to my eyes, but I rejoice that none of our military members was killed in this mission.
  16. Potatoes, early peas, peanuts, butter beans (blue and green), and six-week peas. We will be adding watermelon and pumpkin plants later. We haven't had a garden in a few years, so we are having to relearn a few things. Thankfully, my husband's granny is still alive (93?) and able to share her many years of experience with us. She was still gardening up to two years ago. That lady could get anything to grow! Amazing! Sue
  17. I agree with you, Cheryl. We use Fix-it mainly for editing purposes. It's a great reinforcement for what is taught in the IEW writing classes. I also use R&S 7 orally (just the grammar portion; every other day or so) with my 7th and 10th grader for the more in-depth grammar principles. I think Pamela White, the author of Fix-it, has stated on the IEW yahoo group that she had her son supplement with the Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation that IEW has for sale on their website. You can go to grammarbook.com for an interactive version with grammar and punctuation rules with quizzes, most of it free. No diagramming, though.
  18. I don't think so either, but it sure did help with a better understanding and application of grammar, at least in our case.
  19. So then, you don't agree with Mrs. Mungo about precedence? Thanks for your input Mrs. Mungo, appreciate your research and articulation. I see this quite a bit in threads, the constant repetition of these types of comments, and it just seems to be used as a thinly veiled insult to people who disagree, implying that they are not articulate or do not have anything meaningful to say. I am reminded why I rarely participate in these types of threads. Back to lurkdom for me.
