  1. My son loved: Ellen McHenry's Botany in 8 Lessons My homemade Geology/Paleontology class I put together with rabbit trails of evolution LOF Fractions - Decimals & Percents MCT LA - Paragraph Town MCT - Literature Study - Alice in Wonderland, Wind in the Willows Literature Study of Lightning Thief -- this was great after we did Ancient Greek Philosophy for Kids Greek History Trumpet in Band WOW! I just realized he liked a lot that we did this year. I hope I can duplicate some good things for next year :)
  2. Momtocs -- I would love more details of what you did. I was planning to use Alice in Quantumland, but I didn't know how? What is Physics in Your Life or Scrooge's Cryptic Carol? I just bought "Time and Space of Uncle Albert" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0571226159/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's a trilogy and the 3rd book is called "Uncle Albert and the Quantum Quest." If ds likes the first book, then I will buy the other two for summer read before the Fall. The books are not found in my library. Then, next school year he wants to do quantum physics. So, I was going to use "Alice in Quantumland," but that is as far as I have gotten. To the OP, maybe these books might be a fun read. In the reviews, it has a 12 yrs old, liking the books.

  7. I checked Google books and it says No Free Ebook. Bummer. But when I clicked on Books a Million, it's 22.50 each for the Answer Book and Textbook. I don't know the shipping. Link http://www.booksamillion.com/product/9780982136324 Never mind. You have to be a member of the Books A Million Club (pay 25.00 a year) to get the 22.50 price :(
  8. Hunter - This is EXACTLY what I needed--- The Write On. I am using Paragraph Town but I do not know how to get started for him to write the 3 paragraphs. I LOVE the 3 sentences about a topic and going from there to write the paragraphs. This is soooo awesome. I cannot thank you enough :)
  9. Hunter--- How did you know that I am in a bind about writing compositions :) Thank you, thank you!
  10. When I am at work, I can't get on because it doesn't go directly here to the forums, it takes me somewhere ELSE LAND of the unknown and asks for a password. I thought it was because something is up at my work computer. At home I do not have any problems getting on the forums directly.
  11. Hi, has anybody used this curriculum? https://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/human-body-detectives/?source=HSBC-2014-03-25&utm_source=Offer+Emails&utm_campaign=HSBC-2014-03-25&utm_medium=email I am thinking of buying this for my science loving kid. 13. Hi, I know I can get free copy of School Composition but can you print it out for free? If not, did you buy a hardcopy book? I found them on Amazon but wasn't sure which one to buy: Is there a difference between School for Use in Higher Grammer Classes Classic Reprint (August 2012) link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099TOAMW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER or and some old paperback version School Composition: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0554756153/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER or does it really matter? 14. I want to buy a print version.
  15. ok, I am in the similar situation with finding friends who are academically minded, too, but dh does not think we can't homeschool if we don't find any. He is all aboard with homeschool thru High School. It's me worried he won't find friends in High School and I don't know if its in my head or not. There are less and less of Homeschool High Schoolers Support Groups around here than the younger ages one. No advice, just commiserating :)
  16. I don't think I have Windows Media Player. I have CLoudPlayer instead. Is it free to download? I will try that first. Everytime I try to open with Cloudplayer, its just opens as a text file with random letters everywhere. But Cloudplayer may be just Video, I think. You see I don't know. Peachill Press just sends me links all the time, thinking they will work. As opposed to your advice -- look for Windows Media Player on your computer. Do not have Media Player go here..... That was the kind of advice I was looking from PeaceHill Press. That's all. Thanks, I will try your advice later tonight!
  17. When I right click the file it gives me options: Open Open in New Tab Open in New Window ... etc.
  18. Thank you!!! Ds has seen women objectified on bilboards, in the supermarket on magazines, on tv (commercials during Superbowl type things-when I have to quickly censore commercials, etc). I have been wondering about this lately how to teach this! I can't thank you enough :)
  19. So, I bought some downloads at Peacehill Press back before the Holidays for their sale on downloads. Anyway, I THOUGHT I downloaded an MP3 file but when I tried to open it, its just jibberish writting. I do have cloudplayer at home and at work, I don't know what but I can play some videos at work. So, I contact Peacehill Press and they have been responsive about sendind me different links that "should work" but don't. Can anybody help with this? We have a new computer Lenovo, and CLoudPlayer that I was able to use with other video downloads on the intrernet but I just have a problem with Peacehill Press' for some reason.
  20. This is a good start. I wonder if anybody has found something more recent?
