Thanksgiving breakfast?
livingnlearning replied to staceyobu's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I might have to look for them! That was how I got stuck on this "theme", someone mentioned chicken wrapped in bacon and dusted with brown sugar and chili powder... and I was sold! Sausage balls would have been a good one for me to make-might have to grab the stuff for that too. We live off of our Thanksgiving leftovers for days! -

Cute Weimie! Love those eyes! I want to see a picture of the CKC too, I think they're such cute pups! -

livingnlearning replied to Fleur de Lis's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I bought a couple hanging shoe holders and hung those-they hold everyone's hats/mittens/gloves/headlamps/ect in each cubby. Lots of coat hooks.... boot trays. And it's still a mess but it was worse before! My entryway is also my laundry room and I hate it-it's always a disaster! -
Thanksgiving breakfast?
livingnlearning replied to staceyobu's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We just have things to snack on until it's time for the big meal. This year I'm doing Things Wrapped in Bacon: dates, chicken, peppers, ect... just appetizers that sounded good. I'm also baking a brie with raspberry jam on top and crackers on the side, and making chocolate cheese danishes (Giada's easy recipe-bought the pastry dough). I like to just cook all day long and just keep turning things out of the kitchen as I go. -

Puppy breath! We all miss when our puppies were that age! Those are nice looking pups-do you get the pick of the three? That darkest one might face out to be the lightest color with a dark mask. That's what our female pup looked like at that age. :) I liked her light color with the dark mask. This is what our BMC puppies looked like at about the same age-ours were fatties since there were only two and they had the milk bar all to themselves! Did I mention they were fat? gads! -
Holiday Facebook pet peeve
livingnlearning replied to AvasMom's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I just say "enjoy your holidays"! Even if they don't believe in a thing but they get a day off work they have a holiday. :) If only people would take well wishes in the spirit in which they're meant and not how it is interpreted... -

How long does raw milk "keep"?
livingnlearning replied to Samiam's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We usually drink ours before it gets a chance to go bad but when our cow is really putting it out there (or the kids are out of town) we have kept it for as long as 10 days or two weeks, as long as it's been in the coldest part of the fridge without having been shaken or taken out. If I start noticing we're falling behind I'll make a quick batch of yogurt or sour cream and turn it into something else. We couldn't freeze ours either b/c it was whole milk-if we separate we can freeze the skim milk but not the whole. Those cream globs just never go back to normal! -

Squash casserole--I know this is wrong BUT
livingnlearning replied to Gamom3's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Frozen summer squash tastes like rubber to me, I don't like it at all! I'd change my plans if I couldn't find it fresh. Canned pumpkin is often mixed with other winter squash, it's not pure pumpkin. So depending on your recipe, I would use canned. http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/ingredients-pantry/canned-pumpkin-what-is-it-really-made-of-069123 -
Butter or Margarine?
livingnlearning replied to Kate CA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Ever since I heard margarine is actually a greyish color and has to be dyed to be yellow I can't eat it. bleh. -
Ugh, my KitchenAid is dead.
livingnlearning replied to Excelsior! Academy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I got mine in 1996 and it's put in some hard times! It's ground up hundreds of deer and mixed boatloads of cookie dough. I actually got it as a wedding gift and didn't realize how much it cost-holy cow! I need to send out another round of thank you cards on that one!! -
My 11 year old nearly fainted-she flopped over onto a chair-while watching a vet procedure this past summer. She was clammy and pale and would have passed completely out except that one of the vet techs saw her about to go over and got her sat down. It took her a while to get back to normal. Pretty unexpected, she has seen so much more graphic things than she saw that day but something about it really bothered her! She got a little if-y when she got her ears pierced too.

My baby girl is home from college...
livingnlearning replied to Susann's topic in General Education Discussion Board
that gave me tears too... last night I told my 11 year old daughter that I didn't want her to ever leave me though I knew she would have to someday... and I remember being home from college, back in the comfortable nest to rest and recover. special times, enjoy it! -
It's a pretty easy one to follow after the first couple weeks-it's just sensible! lowcarbfriends.com has a board for it and the ladies on there are PROS. They make cakes out of beans!

Since there are so many horse people on here
livingnlearning replied to Journey's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My daughter was all about jumping too-her horse doesn't have the legs for it and we don't have a jumper for her yet. You'd think with anywhere from 8 to 13 horses at a time we would have a jumper for her but we don't! She had to ride the lesson horses and she loved it, she would be jealous to see all these jumping pictures! -

that jumping picture is too cute! Hey you horse people if you feed Purina Senior to any of these beautiful ponies you can print out a $10 coupon twice per email address here: http://www.equisearch.com/purina-senior-resource-center-quiz/ You have to take the little quiz but it's harmless. I just saved a lot of money from this site-each member of our family has at least two email addresses! LOL
