  1. Thanks for reminding me about these! We used to watch them on tv. I just found them on Tower.com for $33.99 with free shipping!
  2. I think it's worth it. BUT, if you are going to spend that kind of money, make sure to get a graphics pad also. Adobe Photo Elements and a few other programs came with the Wacom Bamboo Fun graphics pad that I bought my dd. Amazon has the bundle for $88.57 with free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Small-Tablet-Graphics-Software/dp/B000V9NU2A
  3. There are a few parts that I'm a little uncomfortable with my 13ds watching. I wouldn't have let him watch it when he was 12. Have you read Screenit's review? I almost always read their reviews before watching movies. http://www.screenit.com/movies/2008/the_dark_knight.html
  4. I agree with you 100% on Wall E and Kung Fu Panda. I don't know how anyone could NOT like Mamma Mia! I keep reading bad reviews about it, but I just don't get it. I LOVED it and received it for Christmas. I also loved the soundtrack.
  5. Obviously it's not just you, but I LOVED it! I loved everything except the tall woman and the little "boy" that liked her. That was just creepy. I've only saw it once, but I can't wait until Christmas. If I have hinted enough, I should receive the movie from my dh. :) I can understand men not liking it, but can't imagine women of all ages not liking it. After watching it at the theater, I bought the soundtrack for me and my 15dd. We also loved the soundtrack. It will be a lot more fun to watch it again as we plan to sing along the next time! :)
  6. This is my favorite movie!!! My mom, my 15dd, and I saw it this summer. It's on my Christmas list also! :) I can't wait to see it again!!
  7. The Planet Earth DVDs are great! Have you checked Walmart for Legos? Ours looks like they are trying to get rid of them and only sell Mega Bloks. :glare: Anyway, last week I picked up a Lego King's Castle Siege for $50 at Walmart! That is a great deal for a set with 900+ pieces.
  8. No way, though I did think about it when dd was younger. For whatever reason, 13 seems to be the magic age for my children to find friends. My 16dd was 13 when she found her friends. Ds is 13 and within the last couple of months has had his first sleepovers and now has a couple of close guys he can hang out with. Praying she finds a good friend! I know it's hard. :(
  9. I forgot to say that the one that we bought is wood. We bought it at Walmart and paid around $30. Our ds doesn't get much practice on it here in TN. :) He's used it a total of 2 weeks in the last 2 summers. We looked up videos on YouTube and found lots of tips to try and he was a lot better this summer.
  10. We bought our ds a skimboard last year while on vacation. If I remember correctly, they are sized according to the user's weight.
  11. I bought Sansas for our children last Christmas. The kids still love theirs and use them everyday.
  12. I'm on Level 13. Fun! Thanks for posting this. I'm sure my children and dh will enjoy it too. :)
  13. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats in the house. We have a Boston Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Lab, and a Boston Terrier/French Bulldog puppy. The only dog that cares anything about the cats is the Cairn Terrier. He's a very strange little dog. He wrestles with one of our cats. He'll chase him through the house, then a little while later the cat will be chasing him. He has never attacked any of our cats, but he doesn't like our 3 outside cats. He will bark and growl at them through the window. We also have guinea pigs, he acts like he would like to eat them! Cairn Terriers have a strong drive to hunt and they are diggers. You can't just leave them in a yard, they will dig out. He is a very smart dog and very playful. He also has lots of energy! Just thought I would speak up about my Cairn Terrier!
  14. I would say, "Sorry, they don't perform tricks on command.". Ok, I wouldn't really say that.. :001_smile:
  15. You've posted a few times before about wanting a cat. I can't imagine it being that hard to find a cat. Have you tried petfinder?
  16. We love the Guitar Hero games, but I would highly recommend you NOT buying Guitar Hero III, Legends of Rock. There are songs like, The Number of the Beast and Raining Blood. I found the game to be Satanic with pentagrams everywhere and you are fighting for your soul until the end when you battle the devil. Guitar Hero World Tour is a lot of fun and has more of a variety of songs. The only objectionable song I've seen so far is a song called, Dammit. I don't know the words to the song because we didn't play it. Have you looked at Rock Band? It's a lot of fun too. Here are the song lists for Rock Band I and II.. Rock Band I http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band Rock Band II http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band_2 Hope this helps!
  17. No, she's not too young! Knifty Knitters are really really easy to use. I bought a pack of 4 looms at Walmart. It comes with the tool she would need. The only other thing you would need is yarn. Here is the set I bought: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10727484
  18. If you want REALLY easy, try Knifty Knitter. My daughter and I have made lots of hats. It's so easy! I found our set of looms at Walmart. http://www.provocraft.com/products/index.products.php?cl=knifty%20knitter
  19. We bought a Sedu flat iron. It works great! I recommend reading the reviews on Folica. I love looking at the before and after pictures! http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1560.html
  20. We bought ours used about a year ago. The only problem we have is with the disk tray. When we push the eject button, the drawer doesn't come all the way out. The main problem I've read about 360's is that they overheat. We've had ours do it when ds forgot to open the entertainment doors while he was playing. It got too hot and shut off. We let it cool for a couple of hours and it's been fine since.
  21. We have Guitar Hero games. I also have problems with some of the songs. Guitar Hero I and II were pretty safe. Guitar Hero III, I hate. Besides the songs, there are flying pentagrams and you get to battle the devil at the end. Have you looked at Rock Band? We have that also and like most of the songs on there. It's also more fun for the entire family! Google Guitar Hero and Rock Band song lists before you buy.
  22. Cats may be somewhat independent, but they do form bonds with each other. If I was the person getting rid of the cats, I would much rather give them a home where they could be together. I agree with taking her to an animal shelter. They are FULL of cats and kittens needing homes.
  23. Here is the BEST website for low carb recipes. I'm sure you'll find something good to make! http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/
  24. Yep, love Guitar Hero! :) Love Rock Band even more!! Me and the kids have a band. I'm the drummer. :D
