  1. My older kids have been so great with their baby sister! It's going to be ok. ðŸ‘
  2. I once had endoscopic surgery to remove scar tissue. I was supposed to feel fine in a few days. It took me a month to heal. (And fluid drained from my incision for weeks.) ☹ï¸
  3. Just reading this thread gives me anxiety. We have moved a lot too. I think the most important thing you can do is get rid of as much stuff as possible before you start packing. It's amazing how stuff accumulates. But if you are only moving 5 minutes away and you don't have to pack a moving truck it probably won't be an issue.
  4. I LOVE babies, and I will probably always feel the need to have more babies in my life. But practicality tells me we are done. I have absolutely miserable pregnancies. There is also the time/energy/attention factor. And I seem to be the only introvert in a (small) house full of loud extroverts, and I have to put a lot of effort into keeping my sanity. I sometimes wonder if we will foster or adopt again at some point in the future, but as of right now, we are a full house.
  5. *Nevermind, I just saw your last post. You may want to try cutting out dairy and see if it makes a difference. One of my kids had a chronic cough as a toddler. The Dr. said it was asthma related, but I stopped giving her cow's milk and the cough disappeared, along with her eczema.
  6. It is very thorough in the younger years, and I think it is great. I also don't put a lot of focus on the little dialect marks. It did become over-the-top for us by level 7 and I had to look for something else.
  7. I shopped there a million years ago when I lived in NY and I was young and cute and it was trendy but not expensive.
  8. The teacher's guide is much easier to see and follow when correcting. I hate having to use only the answer keys. I also would not recommend having your student correct her own work.
  9. We weren't going to finish until next week. I decided to push everyone to get done because I just can't do it anymore. We would be done if we could be. There are things we have to finish.
  10. Stupid and I just can't do this anymore. This is how I am feeling as I am trying to wrap up our school year this week. Four more days and then we will have a whole month off, and I am losing my ever loving mind. This is our 8th year. Wasn't it supposed to get easier? Ugh.
  11. I would think that he would want to be persistent and come across as being someone who really wants the job. If it was my son I would tell him to call back every few days until he got an answer.
  12. Thank you for sharing this. I would love to hear about your experience as you continue to use this. We have never used OM but it looks like it may be a good fit for my rising 8th grader.
  13. Well, I found a blog review that said this: "Writing skills are so important in high school studies and this course more than prepared my teen for 9th grade literature and composition. And the teacher’s manual helped out a lot, as it included notes and all the answers to the comprehension and critical thinking questions in this course." So I will try to get the teacher's manual too. Oh, the money. :svengo:
  14. When you turn into a psycho because someone can't find a protractor. :cursing:
  15. Oh my goodness, I'm so done!! They kids are moving SO slowly. It feels like we will never finish! 😰
  16. Do I have to buy the teacher's guide too? Also, if I find the text book used, can I buy the writing book separately? Thanks,
  17. We are at the library and I don't even feel like picking out books for everyone. Find your own stinking books, kids! 😂 (Which is so not like me. I love books.)
  18. I am looking for a standardized test for my 7th grader that will give me an accurate view of how he is doing in math and language only. What do you recommend? Thanks!
  19. This is what I have used with my 7th grader this year. It's been completely independent.
  20. I need help finding a Literature/Writing program for an 8th grader (boy, who loves to read but misses details, and writes the least amount of information possible). I would love for it to be one program, and also have some kind of answer guide so that I have reasonable expectations. I'm honestly quite exhausted of trying to pull words out of him. :svengo: And, it would be wonderful if it wasn't ridiculously expensive. Is there anything like this? Thanks!!
