  1. :grouphug: Jessica, I think a number of relatives fear the idea of going against the grain more than academic failure. My experience has been to let the proof be in the pudding and try to let the comments go in one ear and out the other...You've got lots of company in the my relatives just can't wrap their brains around another way to educate. You children will grow up well educated and he and the other naysayers can just learn to live with it .
  2. Has he tried them on with his soccer socks? They are extra, extra thick and might make up the difference.
  3. Give that sweetie a high five from me too.:chillpill::chillpill::chillpill: I hope and pray his chill pills bless him with healing. He sounds like one amazing little guy.:grouphug:
  4. I was amazed by how fast they are this week. I ordered Sunday and received my ordinary shipping mail yesterday (Friday). I agree with calling them. Sorry about your wait and frustration.
  5. Big hug...:grouphug: We promise the baby will come out soon. All together ladies, "COME OUT BABY, Your momma is waiting.";)
  6. Drink something super cold then plug your nose and chug away. That's what I taught my kids. Oh, and have a glass of water in hand to wash down the sludge. Wishing you headache relief~ PS... I've too have take bubblegum flavored med and lived through it.
  7. Waking up here to cheer you on or encourage you to get a little prep-rest.:grouphug:
  8. :grouphug: Poor kiddo, I just can't imagine...(Poor mom & dad too.) I'll be sending prayers for a full and speedy healing.
  9. Oh, yes. Aubrey, we're sending you prayers and wishes for a quick and easy delivery of another beautiful baby.
  10. We use the one on the back of the big box... I prefer a new box just because they are so perfect...
  11. :party:Happy dance here for you. I just love a new box of books.
  12. I try to keep mine in the car and still can forget them.:glare: The ladies at Walmart almost always try to scan them even when I cheerfully have said "I've brought my own bags." :glare: I just repeat, these are my bags...See the GreenValleybags.com logo. They stand up and open like an old fashioned paper bad. Love em... Target, and our other grocery stores do pretty well with them.
  13. :iagree: This falls under the trust, but verify etc. I've also found that this street runs both ways. In my dream world, there would not be the daily need for checking and grading papers, but that is my job as the lessons are theirs. :001_huh: We have to work to make and keep this habit, and some days it isn't easy.
  14. I keep a pretty well stocked pantry year round but really beef it up just before winter. I love fewer trips to the grocery store January through April. Rice tons of pastas canned tomatoes tomato paste potatoes (during winter I bake a bunch at a time and freeze them.) beans canned and dried lots of cheeses bread flours & apf yeast croutons ;) baked beans tuna onions salmon Mayo mustard garlic stuff for pancakes and waffles eggs ham butter olive oil frozen veggies precooked meat like chicken frozen Knorr soup mix to spice different things up like soup & spinach dip Knorr bouillon Worcestershire Sauce Teriyaki Sauce Soy Sauce Sugar Crackers cashews Window winter herbs like rosemary, chives and anything else that will grow.
  15. I've have oodles of pet peeves, but not many things will push me into a public hissyfit. Known exceptions are people leaving their kids or pets in hot cars or kids playing with real guns or bows and arrows out front and reckless drivers. Those will all push me into an immediate public hissyfit, but most of the other stuff just irritates me.
  16. They are so much fun. My kids loved it, we set it up in the BASEMENT. No problem with noise down there. The finished rocks were amazing.
  17. I think our area is outside the norm because dual enrollment isn't unusual here. My kids take classes outside the home, a few they've take are once a week classes of gym & Swim, art, science a writer's workshop and Spanish are just a few. Oh...and my dd is looking forward to driver's ed. :001_huh:Oy...
  18. I have a trick, no strategy that worked for us. Check the on-line sales paper Saturday night for the Sunday paper flyer's. We did and hubby was in line at ToysRus an hour before they opened and got one. They even escorted in one person at a time early to make their purchase. Each store only gets a few and you have to be there early. Good luck.
  19. You could.... 1. Change your mind and plan something wonderful because babies always come when you're busy. 2. Eat hot spicy food that gets you going to the restroom. A good clearing out seems to precede many births. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids. 3. Have someone massage your feet and ankles. Some midwives and massage studios know just the spot to bring on the contractions. 4. STAIRS, my mom always said to walk up and down them until you are so tired you can't stand it. The baby is sure to come when your tired and need a nap. 5. Take that pony cart ride...:D Your little one will be in your arms very soon.
  20. My dd is very excited. I'm sure we'll spend more time in front of the tube. Go USA!
  21. Good luck, good luck...You can do it. You must be superwoman to have ripped up all those workbooks. It will be worth the effort though.
  22. You can have only a little pity from me along with a big dose of Ikea envy. It will look beautiful when it's done. Hang in there, I do wish we lived near an IKEA.;)
