  1. My K son is flying through Primer as well. He's really enjoying it, so we plan on sticking with the series. I'm planning to move him into Alpha as soon as he finishes Primer, whenever that ends up being. I imagine that he'll slow down at some point!
  2. My 5 year old spends about 45-60 minutes a day doing table work. That doesn't count me reading aloud to him and his brothers.
  3. I'm currently using MUS Primer for my K son. He loves it.
  4. It looks good to me. I'm using a similar focus for K this year. I may throw in a little bit of geography at some point this year once we get a good routine going, but it won't be an every day thing.
  5. I'm using Phonics Pathways supplemented with Bob books for my 5.5 year old K'er.
  6. I bought an older version of this one 13 years ago when I started college, and it still works great. http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/824748/By-19240-Electric-Sharpener-Black/
  7. We have 3, plus 1 more due in February. At this point we think #4 will be our last child, although we reserve the right to change our minds a few years down the road!
  8. I paid $8 plus $4.95 shipping from ZenniOptical for my glasses a few months ago, and so far I have been pleased.
  9. I shop sales at several grocery stores, but even with that, we save more than our $40 yearly membership fee just in buying cheese and diapers from Sams. Butter, yeast, and honey are really good deals there too.
  10. I agree that your baby is likely sensitive to something in your diet, and I also agree that dairy isn't a likely culprit if baby is tolerating milk-based formula so well. Are you still taking prenatal vitamins? 2 of my children were a lot happier once I quit taking prenatals and switched over to a regular multi-vitamin instead. I guess the excess iron in the prenatals bothered them. I think cutting out caffeine is a great place to start. Also, you might want to consider keeping a daily food diary and record of baby's symptoms to see if you can spot any correlation between the two. I hope you're able to figure this out quickly.
  11. I can highly recommend the realtor we used to buy our house last year. Her office is located in Sandy Springs, but she shows houses all over the Atlanta area. PM me if you are interested in her contact info. We live on the east side of town in SE Gwinnett county and really like it, but that's a bit further out than it sounds like you want. It takes us about an hour to get to the center of town in good traffic--thank goodness dh doesn't have to commute that far.
  12. "My freezer is full" has easily gotten the meat people off my doorstep multiple times.
  13. My Walmart has the 24 ct boxes of Crayola for 22 cents.
  14. I was planning to start July 1, but then morning/all-day sickness reared its ugly head the week before. Now I'm aiming for August 4 or thereabouts, crossing my fingers that I feel better by then.
  15. Thank you. I was thinking that Sept 1 was likely the magic cut-off date, but the law seemed a bit ambiguous to me when I read it again tonight.
  16. We married when I was 23 and he was 22. We've been married for 7 years now and dated for 4 years prior to that.
  17. We paid Staples $10 to recycle our dead monitor. I hated paying the money, but at least it got the monitor out of the garage!
  18. My son turns 6 this October. Am I correct in assuming that I don't have to file a Declaration of Intent for him until the 2009-2010 school year?
  19. 3.5 months 11 months 13 months All 3 kids were totally breastfed until 6+ months and continued nursing well past a year. Babies #2, 3, and 4 were all conceived while nursing. Baby #1 started sleeping through the night very early on, and I attribute that to my cycle returning so early after his birth.
  20. My all-purpose spray cleaner is half vinegar/half water, with a few drops of orange oil for scent.
