I highly recommend this one. http://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Thermal-Laminator-Inches-TL901/dp/B0010JEJPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330409087&sr=8-1 I saw it at my Walmart the other day for under $20.
I have always cut the binding off the book, scanned the pages, saved them on my hard drive, then printed them as needed in subsequent years. My printer/scanner has an automatic document feed, and that simplifies the process tremendously!
My plan for my son entering 3rd grade:
finish MUS Gamma/start Delta
FLL 3
AAS 2/3
finish SOTW2/start SOTW3
Elemental Science Chemistry
Prima Latina
copywork from SOTW
HWT Cursive
He'll also be starting piano lessons and continuing in Cub Scouts.
My husband grew up in a family of 4 before divorce, 9 after. He has the most children of any of his siblings or step-siblings. We have 4 children, and all the others have 1-2.
I'm the only child of 2 only children. I've always said that dh and I averaged our pasts when we created our own family!
All 4 of my grandparents grew up in families with 6-9 kids each. I don't think any of those kids ended up having more than 2 children of their own.
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this! My 2nd son had a similar injury when he was 3. His finger looked horrible at the time, but it healed back wonderfully with only a tiny scar that takes some effort to locate. Its function is perfect. I hope the same will be true for your baby!
My kids really enjoyed the Museum of Natural History in Anniston. There is also a world history museum on the same property. I haven't been there myself, but I've heard good things about it.

How close is close? We used to live a full day's drive from our closest family member, and we both thought that was too far away. We're now 1.5 hour/3.5 hours from our parents and see both sets fairly regularly, and that's just about perfect. I wouldn't want to live much closer.
You are correct. You don't have to submit the Declaration of Intent form in Georgia unless your child is at least 6 years old by September 1 or has previously been enrolled in public school.
