  1. :iagree:, although I did pick the first option of the poll, since my kids are still young enough that I'll be taking the against them stance for several more years.
  2. 1099's aren't due out until the end of Feb, so, we wait........
  3. Oohh, can't believe ds forgot these! He loved them! There's actually 3. My Side of the Mountain, Far Side of the Mountain, and Frightful's Mountain.
  4. I'm asking my son. His recs: Huckleberry Finn, Hatchet, Hardy Boys(going on the premise that your son likes adventure type things).
  5. I have a Facebook account. I don't go there very often. I chose at least 1x a month. I used it to keep in touch with people I rarely see, but now all I really do is check in to see what(if anything) anyone has posted, and I share pictures.
  6. The article stated that they had received many death threats, maybe the children were removed for their safety because of that?
  7. I'd found the pattern I needed for tonight's group, only to get there to find out that the library was closed...bummer. At least Rav's back up now.
  8. :crying: Hopefully it will come back soon. I was hoping to search around for a simple pattern to take to a knitting group tonight!
  9. Oh, I love it. Dh even got me a Tetley teapot for my birthday this year(they sell them on the back of the box with so many upc's, but again, only to Canadian addresses. I'd thought of using my grandma's address but didn't want her to worry about mailing it since she would even if I asked her to hold it for me until the summer) He found it on ebay. I was so excited!
  10. My favortie tea is Tetley Orange Pekoe. Can't get it in the States(at least not the same kind) so every summer when I go to Canada to visit family, I buy 3 or 4 large boxes of it. I'm a pot a day(at least) tea drinker. :lurk5::bigear::tongue_smilie:(for ds)
  11. Do we know yet of a way to do this? I have a post on the sale board that I would like to edit(and it is past the time that my edit button is available). Would it be better to ask it be deleted and then start again?
  12. Here's a simple pattern: http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/socksbasic.htm Instead of doing the k2p2 rib all the way down the leg, I'd probably do about 15 rounds or so for the cuff in k2p2, then switch to plain knit until the sock is as tall as you want it to be, then go on to the heel and all. The pattern seems pretty basic. I started on a pattern similar to this one only with thicker yarn since I was a bit nervous about the skinny yarn. Good luck!
  13. Ours is at 58 day/night. It was at 56 day/night but then DH started working at more new constructions(no heat) so he likes it a bit warmer. Our house is really old and we lose a lot of heat even with thermal window coverings, so putting it up higher is just wasting money. We have been talking over getting a programmable thermostat lately so we'd probably have the heat 56 day and bump it to 58 or 60 for when he comes home, then back down to 56 at bedtime.
  14. I know this will probably sound out there, but since you like nature, here's an idea. My parents live in a coach in Florida. My mom volunteers/works at a visitors center at a National Park. My dad is a lock and dam operator. I thought of them when you said you'd be interested in something along the lines of nature. Anyways, you could look into doing something along those lines. Typically your site fee and hookup to electric/water are paid for, plus sometimes paid an hourly wage as well. I don't know if you are taking rent into consideration(I assume so), but you wouldn't have to worry about that bill if you did that. You of course would need a coach/rv/trailer of some sort but I've been able to find decent ones, for not a ton of money. I think you live in Savannah? I did a quick search and found some things at Fort Pulaski(I'm not sure of the area so....). http://www.volunteer.gov/GOV/resultsZ.cfm?states=GA&myPosition=visitor&myTx=Visitor%20Information Anyways, just thought I would throw that out there, you could probably be able to take the children with you on a daily basis. If you do decide to pursue that idea, I can get more information from my parents since they've been doing just that for several years and love it. I'd love to be able to do something like that, sell the house and travel to parks with the family and an rv. Maybe in later years, dh isn't on board with something like that at this point.
  15. Do you sew at all? You could make your own pockets. Here is a free pattern: http://www.geocities.com/gabrielbaby1/fuzzibunz.html I didn't have luck finding the right materials in stores(although I did find things that were similar and worked decently), but you can find online stores. I found a few places by searching pul microfleece material. I didn't check prices but it may end up less expensive if you have basic sewing ability. I made some myself and they turned out decently.
  16. Well, there's the Mothering.com Trading Post at their discussion board. You could try your local Craigslist. There is also Diaperswappers.com. Those are the main ones I know of. Hope you find some better deal than ebay.
  17. Here's a good link. Not sure how much you are spending though, as the top one is only good for orders above $50. Hope it helps though. http://www.retailmenot.com/view/christianbook.com
