  1. I ordered my replacement from CBD (Christian Book) and it was $39.95 for TT5 and TT6.
  2. I am in the Yahoo group and have been for a few months. He posted today that someone asked what is religious beliefs were, and that was his private business, and he does not allow them to intrude upon what is taught in his curriculum. He states that he has made a streneous effort in this regard to allow the students to delelop their own beliefs and opinions. He stated that he does not share his religious or political beliefs, nor would he ask anyone what theirs were. I have read the first 2 courses in the Upper School Histroy and Science and found nothing objectional. Very factual in nature, with no religious bias at all. Hope that helps!
  3. I just wanted to give an update on my bent book situation. I spoke to Rebecca and they are mailng me one today, and I will be mailing the damaged book back to them. I can't wait to use it!!! This book seems perfect for me. I love the quality and the exta pages, like shopping list and finance info are ones that I will use. I love the fact that it's spiral bound too!
  4. On my 9th birthday, my dad got drunk and told me in front of all my friends that he was leaving my mom and moving in with his secretary. I'm not sure who is was worse for, me or my mom! And that was the end of their marriage.
  5. I got mine today!! But it is damaged. There are big creases on the front and back cover that cause the pages in the book not to lay flat and pretty much ruins the last 10 pages!! It looks like my book was bent in half. UGH. But the inside is nice, just not sure I want a book this damaged.
  6. Ask for a Postal Money order. You can cash it at the Post Office before you ship the items out.
  7. We just came back from Branson a few weeks ago. We stayed at Castle Rock Resort. I wish we had stayed at a cabin so we could cook, but the kids loved the waterpark at the resort. We usually stay at Indian Point but decided to try something different. We loved the Dixie Stampede and Ride the Ducks was a blast. http://www.bransonducks.com/ We went to the Butterfly Palace and the kids wanted to stay all day! We went to the Hollywood Wax Musueum, but it wasn't worth the $14.95 a person. My favorite show in Branson is Shepherd of the Hills. I still remember that show from when I was a kid.
  8. I had that happen on Friday night. I called Tech Support and was told it was a problem on their end and that they had no idea when all the emails were going to be restored. I have 25 messages that have that same error message and am still waiting to see what they say. I have been able to get emails since Sunday, but still have the 25 that I can't read or erase either.
  9. They are in town and decided to go to Taco Bell before coming over. My kids are about to jump through their skin. They are having a hard time waiting!

  16. I thought the school year started on July 1st and ended on June 30th of the next year. I found it somewhere when we started homeschooling a few years ago. http://www.stlouiscatholichomeschool.com/law.html But I found found this on HSLDA so I guess it has changed. http://www.hslda.org/docs/news/hslda/200112031.asp I just use July 1- June 30th just to be on the safe side! I hate reccording hours! This blog is more current. http://missourihomeschool.wordpress.com/2008/09/24/school-year-revisited/

  19. I am in Jefferson County. Would love to have a meet up!
  20. My son is in the special ed preschool program also. I was told that homeschooled and private school kids will only get services if there are funds left after their first priority, public school kids. We are going through Scottish Rite. They receive services all year round, until age 7. Good luck!
  21. Right there with you guys! My 10 y/o ds would have wanted his Nintendo DS, my 6 y/o dd would have talked the whole time, and my 3 y/o ds would wander off!
  22. My dh is an OTR driver for PAM Transport. He is now a trainer, which is more $$$. He is gone 4 weeks, then home for 5-7 days. He is making .34 a mile, and his pay ranges from about 1000-2500 a week. He has great weeks when he has a student. He gets free showers and laundry at the truck stops that his company fuels up at. He spends between 150-200 a month for food, but he is usually feeding his student too. We spend $70 a month for him to have internet access and he has a cell. He has a mini fridge and crock pot for his "kitchen." Also, since he is considered a DOT employee, 60% of his expenses are tax deductable. If you have any specific questions, PM me and I'll pass them to dh if I don't know the answer. It's a tough life, but it is what we have had to do. Also, since we homeschool, we can take days off when he is home. Sarah
  23. I would look at Jump In by Apologia. I looked at it for my oldest, who just turned 10. I am going to use it next year when he is in 6th.
  24. I signed up and haven't gotten my packet yet. Thanks for the reminder! It does start in October, and I think the last few years I got my info in mid-September.
