"The art of airporting"

Yes - I ended up watching the video in the article. It's NOT goats doing yoga (Why? HOW???), but people doing yoga with goats present (still a little "Why?" And some "How?" with the logistics of animals indoor)

And I can generally see the appeal of making airports more comfortable/interesting, but given the experienced and expected rise in air travel, something like the ice skating rink, that also draws non-passengers, seems like it would contribute to the crowding issues.

I’ve been to the Denver Airport but haven’t seen the skating rink. If you are a passenger, do you have to leave the secure area to take advantage? That seems like a huge pain unless you have a long layover.

I have no idea what the appeal of having a skating rink in an airport is.  I mean, it's great to have physical activity during long layovers, but I'm with you on crowding issues.

Goat yoga is a mystery to me, but I have several friends with goats, so I had actually heard of it.    I wonder if on a long trip it might be nice to connect with some bit of nature, in this case goats.

Yeah, I'm not sure we've ever had a layover that leaves extra time beyond getting to the gate and maybe grabbing a cup of coffee if we're lucky.

I would choose a different flight or airport to go through if my layover was long enough to do yoga or go ice skating. I just want to get to where I'm going--I NEVER wish for LONGER travel days! Lol

It's quite popular here. Another revenue stream for small farms/homesteaders.

See that makes a bit more sense. I doubt it's something I'd be interested in (I generally prefer my yoga to be animal-free), however, I can see it being a benefit to small farms/homesteaders and people who are interested. The logistics of doing it in an airport leave me scratching my head.

The article did say that the media value of the goat yoga is $1 million plus, which for me may push it more toward media stunt and further away from customer care or income benefit for small farmers.

I can't see my family making use of these activities during a layover. We are looking for a decent meal and free wifi. I wouldn't want to risk injury or wet clothing to go ice skating. I also wouldn't go to an airport to do anything if I didn't have to after the recent experience in Brussels airport. For us we just want to get through the airport as safely and quickly as possible, and only when it's necessary. I choose our layover locations based on weather (preferring Atlanta to Chicago in winter for example), friendliness of the staff, and ease of moving between terminals.
